Another trade topic... GGG please

I am playing this game self found because of one reason. Trading it this game sucks much more it did in D3 vanilla. I've tried to trade but "it was already sold" or for some other strange reason I was unable to successfully trade. w/o trading you hit a wall on merciless and need to grind countless hours for any usable legendary or a ton of mats to craft nothing due to no luck in rng. What else is bad about it all is when you finally kill a 70+ lvl mob and a legendary drops you ID it only to get a bow with 5-20 phys dps that is for a lvl 10 char. Great - you give us low level legendaries - give a chance to sell them.

PLEASE create an in-game trading system, where you place an item with a bunch of prizes in different currencies for somebody to automatically pick it up from you with whichever currency they currently have when you don't need to be online to do so.

Do that and I will be more than happy to buy more supporter packs.

I mean... you know that the api has been fucked up for a few days right? It will get sorted out. That's what is causing the "already sold" issues so consistently. The trade system, when the api is not fucked, works just fine. It takes 30 seconds, maybe 1 minute, to get whatever you want.
U MAD?
The sad part is that we refer to "poe trade system" but what we really mean is a certain advertisement virus spreading suspicious third party website...

Use adblock like any responsible person online should.

In terms of the trade system, GGG never intended for trade to be anywhere near as easy as it is now and OP is asking for them to make it even easier....hum.

That is the dilemma:
Support the third party website by using it if we like the service they provide or (ad)block it to not get shitty ads or malware?
Gimp ourselves by not using it or enjoy trade more easily than GGG intended?

I remember well what GGG was saying about easy trade and player interaction years ago. Too bad this third party trade system already contradicts that, and to add a cherry on top its effectiveness is gated behind cash, so these ethical mtx we were hearing of are a fasade with many so holes in it... In the end it would be better if GGG got up to date and created a functional trade system of their own; with full control over it, and since p2win is not a problem anymore they could monetize that easily and make everyone happy.

If xyz (the guy that makes poe.trade) needs my money, he needs to use ads that aren't invasive or potentially infectious, until that happens he won't get whitelisted. People seem to think that there has never been another index site before, there has been multiple ones, his just works pretty easy.

What would contradict it even further is simply caving into demands about making trade easier, that is when I will realize GGG no longer cares about the design or the fundamental of the game, but just how can they cater to even MORE casual players that just cry all the fucking time.

P2W isn't a problem, you can do now the same thing with premium tabs as you can with regular tabs, just have to setup acqusition, which is actually initially faster then setting up premium tabs.

But but the API yo... do you know about the API ? :D
Maybe you should google for API and you will feel much better.../sarcasm

The gall that some people have here is amazing
Trading does suck, and my advice is spend time in game and ignore trading for anything.
Game ends when you trade... and nowadays its cheap to do anything...
Play or trade, because when you trade your playtime goes down hard. Just ask those who make mirrors on mirrors each league... with every new trade the boredom steeps in just a little bit deeper.

Cheers

That was my point. If they want your money, invasive ads, all that shit.
You can't contradict something that has already been contradicted. The statements do not hold anymore. GGG's official trade sytsem wouldn't need to be easier than that one shady website, but it could be ideally in-game and it could be official without any need of adblocks.
As for p2w, we don't have to call it that, but it's true you still need the space to store the items you want to sell. More space, more trades, hence p2w (but we can call it pay-to-trade-effectively-like-in-other-games-in-2016-without-terrible-hassle-that-would-make-you-ragequit or someething similar).

First of all why going to third party sites is needed to trade is beyond me. Find something on the page and return to game only to hear that "sorry, playing standard - can't relog to esence" or the other way around. If the price is set for a certain item why can't I just click the item and get it for the price it says it costs?

The only "downside" of automatic trading would be that some people are going to start playing the "POE: Trade Simulator" but if they enjoy it - why not let them?

I have no problem with GGG implementing a site of their own or an interface in game, I just don't get what we really "gain". Dev time is almost always better spent doing something the community can't do, considering the community can't you know make improvements to the actual game itself.

Space becomes a non issue once you get to a certain point. For example I used to list a massive amount of stuff, but then it takes you additional time to sort through and do smaller trades, when I rather play the game. So far its been more effective to me to not sell cheaper things and just guild stash them or vendor then it would be to take time off mapping or whatever to sell an item.

Because trading was never intended to be that easy, it was more suppose to be for key items and one off things, not just select stats from a drop down list and effectively message the seller to buy with a set price.

The downside is far more then you are aware of. Inflation of items, devaluation of small and medium items and the increased gap between good and great would be extremely detrimental to all but the 1%.
