can`t start game after switch to dx11

hi

i startet the game 32 bit via steam, the went 2 option and switched 2 dx11. the game said i have 2 restart for changing the options. back on desktop the message "Exception Unable to create process. error: 740 " occured.

anyone got an idea how i can switch back 2 32bit outside of the game?

Looking at production_Config.ini in \Documents\My Games\Path of Exile I can see two settings that look related to the DirectX 11 option available in the Options menu;



Try setting directx_version to 9.

Actually if you want to run the game in DX11. Go into your Steam folder. Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Path of Exile. And then run the PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe file. That will allow the game to run in DX11 through Steam.

I'm not 100% certain why you get this error but I am pretty sure there is some sort of problem with which EXE is set to be used in the Steam game Launcher after setting DX11 inside the game options and restarting.

I just created a desktop shortcut for the PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe file and run that for DX11 with Steam.

Hope this helps. DX11 is much better than DX9


Edit: Also applies to the non-Steam version. Just go into your game's directory and run the x64 version. You'll get a 35mb or so update and the game will run in DX11.

U mnie na Windowsie 10 też występował taki problem gdy grę uruchamiałem po przez steam direct 11 nie odpowiadał cały czas błąd 740... pomogło uruchomienie gry ręcznie z folderu przez PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe zanim uruchomiłem dałem jako administrator opcję rozwiąż problem ze zgodnością potem testuj program włączył sie launcher gry z białym tłem pobrało 37mb potem w miejscu play kliknąłem gra uruchomiła się z direct 11 i wszystko działa dobrze a przez steam nadal błąd :)
