SRS and Spell damage

Does spell damage work/help SRS? It does have the spell tag on the gem.

They are a bit different then other minions, I dont know if the same rules apply.

The Spell tag indicates you are casting a Spell which does nothing but summon a Minion. The Minions don't deal Spell Damage.

Not really.

One could mince words. They float, like Animated Weapons, but unlike Zombies, Skeletons, Golems, (most?) Spectres.

They have an abnormally high limit, which is probably what leads most people to think they are extra different.

EDIT: Or it might be the extra-small size. I think SRS are probably the smallest of possible Minions, which may also lead players to believe there's something different.

They're also not targetable by enemies, last time I checked, which I think is a unique property of SRS.

But yes, something about the way SRS behaves leads people to believe they are somehow only a pseudo-minion, when in fact, they are fully minions.

I haven't actually played SRS though - does Convocation work on them? Like... can you have a big bundle of SRS, and then suddenly plop them all at the same location? That would be so baller.

Summon Raging Spirits is a spell. Spell damage does apply to it.

However, the raging spirits summoned via the spell do not benefit from the damage because they are, as simply as we can put it, a byproduct of the spell.

Since the spell only has a byproduct and does no damage itself, spell damage is useless for it. 100% spell damage is affecting zero damage.
