Can anything mitigate trap damage?
For many reasons (latency, difficulty being precise with point and click movement, etc) I have great difficulty with traps in the lab. I see that they reduce a flat % of max life and ES, so relying on large pools of these (as I often do elsewhere) don't seem to help. I think I also can't evade or block trap damage (right?). Can anything mitigate it? Armour? Fortify? Endurance charges?

You can check the thread in my signature for the long answer.
The short answer is: 1. Physical damage reduction works on all traps (except fire obv.). It comes from endurance charges, chaos golem, basalt flask, Immortal Call. 2. Armor and Fortify work on spikes, choppers and darts. You also can use Kintsugi pretty effectively for everything, except spikes, choppers and darts. Also Leo special mod (reduced damage taken from DoT) can help with most stuff. Having some life regen (Stone Golem, Vitality, Marble Amulet etc.) and move speed can help a lot when dealing with traps. Last edited by PaperRat#1771 on Oct 5, 2016, 5:32:34 AM

While regen and sources of physical damage reduction are certainly helpful, both for the traps and Izaro himself, I personally find movement speed to be the most effective stat to have if you want an easier time dealing with traps. 25-30 movement speed boots, Phase Run and a simple (quick)silver flask of adrenaline will make most trap gauntlets trivial as you simply do not stand long enough in them to receive significant damage.

You can also equip Cloak of Defiance and unactivate all auras. Trap damage is percentage based anyway so you won't suffer from the loss of stats on your chest, while your mana will suddenly turn into an additional buffer.
The Death's Door unique boots also help with the bleed immunity. Bleed is a significant portion of spike traps and choppers' damage. Something else, some trap fields can be partially or almost entirely bypassed with a long-range lightning warp teleport. Bringing a lightning warp gem helps for these. Note: LW's speed without quality, level and support gems is abysmal, it's to be used only to teleport from a safe spot to another safe spot. You have to be realistic about these things.
