Co op help
How does progression work for each player when playing co op? Do you have to start at the same point in the story? Do both players have the same story progression?
If anyone has answers to questions like these it'd be much appreciated. Thanks Last bumped on Oct 2, 2016, 12:00:48 PM

You can join up whenever. If one person is ahead in story progression, they will have to re-do a couple things to catch the other person up.
If person A has killed the Weaver but person B hasn't yet, they can create a new instance together and person B will still get the quest drop as per usual. Last edited by Vipermagi#0984 on Oct 2, 2016, 11:12:33 AM

So to do co op each player has to be at the same stage of story?

" No. However, you may have to redo areas (not stages, different words) to get relevant items so that they can do a quest you've already done. You know the three glyphs that drop from the Rhoa nests in the Mud Flats? If you've done it, you can progress normally without a problem. But if your friend (who hasn't done it) tries, he cannot enter the Submerged Passage. He needs the glyphs. He also cannot take your portals into areas beyond the Mud Flats, because his quest isn't complete. You will need to go back with him to get those glyphs. But you don't need them. Only he needs them. But since you're playing with him, you go with him. Last edited by Natharias#4684 on Oct 2, 2016, 11:30:41 AM

Ok I think I understand.
And once a session is over and we both quit the game how does the save files work? Do we both have the story progression or just the host? |

" 1. No player hosts a game. It's all on GGG's servers. 2. There is no client-side save file. Again, all on GGG's servers. 3. When an instance closes, it just closes. It's gone. 4. When you complete something, it is permanently done. However, quest items dropping is not considered a quest stage. For instance, if you dropped the glyphs in Mud Flats, it doesn't change anything other than they won't be in your inventory when you load up. But once you've opened the Submerged Passage, it remains open for your character until your character is deleted. |
