Act 2 Kraityn Bandit Boss Normal

Hey Guys,

Has anyone noticed a considerable powerspike in Kraityn's Damage?

I've made two HC characters 22 and 24 respectively with about 600hp and 30% physical damage reduction who were two hit by her flicker strike.

I had no issues tanking the other bandits but Kraityn basically popped me from full-hp to zero in a matter of seconds.

Maybe it's just that I am a bad player, but she definitely was not hitting so hard before this most recent patch...
He's just mad that you called him a she.

Sadly, that's an estimate, and only good against small hits. Against a larger "one hit" style hit, I'd wager your damage reduction was more along the lines of 5%.

reduction = armor/(armor+(12*dmg))

I find even with my squishier character I live longer right in his face than trying to kite him cause flicker strike hits hard and is highly spammable. Im guessing monsters dont have to deal wih "mana" and there is no CD for flicker heh.
I've had nothing but trouble with Kraityn since I started playing. He hurts. A lot.

And so, marauder aside, I'm now an uneasy Kraityn supporter. :(

I dunno.. one of these days I'm going to have to drop into default and figure out a way to beat him with an armourless toon. The other bandits can be toyed with creatively. Kraityn? Not so much, I think. Can't always spam skeletons and I'm not sure he'd drop fast enough w/ a Granite or two.

I know the bandits are supposed to be hard, but I think he does way too much damage way too fast with no way to run off and avoid it or recover. Especially against solo players. At least in a group the damage is spread out. Except that grouping for the bandits opens you to griefing.

Totems and traps makes it pretty easy on any char.

(in normal that is).
Nothing to see here.

little crabs in the Underground Passage were hitting me for half my health in merciless. I went from 50% exp to 0% because I got killed by crabs so many times. I think that zone is over leveled in merciless, although there is no way to see level rating as it's connected to another zone. I say this because the Pirate Ship on merci is lvl 59 when the adjacent zone is 55, which means I usually skip it and come back later after a few more levels. I'm not sure the side-quests in merci should be unbalanced with higher level areas so much.

1: Once you've been to a zone if you pull up the map (U) and hover over the zone, it will tell you the level of the zone.

2: There are in game hints that flat out tell you 'side quest zones are MUCH harder in higher difficulty levels'.

I know that the fetid pool in act one is like ... 6 or 7 levels above the mud flats that is next to it. I got face raped the first time I went in there and then when I looked at the map I was like "WTF, why is that one above my level when the one before it is below?" Then I saw one of the loading screens that stated this was by design.

re: kraitlin - I beat him no problem with a 1H sword and shield shadow. My trick? Flasks and just stayed in his junk. He won't flicker if you straight up fight him, at least he didn't for me. I tried a hit and run and he flickered me and I went 'ow, fuck that' and just popped a flask and got in his junk and won.
