Keyboard Input Lag

Any key press I make involving the keyboard has some weird input lag.

Mouse input is perfectly fine.

Example:

Running around a zone, casting my Ice Storm from Whispering Ice all over the place. Occasionally, I either want to:

A) Cast Orb of Storms to proc 'x' passive
B) Leap Slam to proc Fortify

HOWEVER, I may usually have to press the key for the skill 3-4 times just to get the skill to trigger.

On another note, the same applies with flasks. If I want to trigger say my mana flask or Quicksilver Flask, there is an input lag as well, requiring multiple presses to trigger it.

Before the suggestion of updating keyboard drivers, I have a laptop. Keyboard input is fine every where else.

Pressing "Enter" or "Esc" to access menus or the chat requires multiple presses as well.

Once I am in chat though, typing has no input lag.

I was thinking of getting a mechanical keyboard but that may not even help.


(My specs are perfect for PoE, and VSync is OFF)

During this time, I pressed "Esc" or "Tab" a few times to use their function, and most of the time it took at least 5 presses.

Mouse input is ALWAYS instant however.


It really is frustrating when I get frozen and as much as I spam my Flask key, it won't work because the game is not accepting my input.

did you find any solution to this? I'm having this issue also, need to press few times to trigger potions, this is very annoying , unpleyable.

what's your network latency? do you play in predictive or lockstep mode? does the game react faster if you switch to predictive?

do you have any additional software installed which may interfere with your input? fancy mouse driver stuff? if yes, ever updated it?

I am having the exact same problem! Has a resolution been found?

Once the GeForce Experience overlay was disabled in-game with alt-Z the problem was solved.

I have the same problem. I am using Lockstep. My latency variation doesnt seem to affect the lag. I have to press keys a few times before it works. Have died sometimes and been close to death many times because key failed to use potion
