Poacher's mark doesn't give frenzy charges for my trapper

So I have this character called JohnyTrapola. I'm using a poacher's mark connected with blasphemy.

It has a 25% chance to grant frenzy charges on killing a cursed enemy. Yet I haven't gained any frenzy charges after killing countless cursed(poacher's mark curse) enemies.

The same curse with blasphemy works like a charm on my lvl 84 Occultist ED Witch, so there must be some problem here, obviously.

I'd really like for this gem to work properly, so please fix it somehow.

That's because you're not getting the kills. Your trap is. So your trap gets the frenzy charges. And traps can't have frenzy charges and even if they could they'd be gone when the frenzy charge was given to them.

The Master Sapper node can get your frenzy charges when a trap is triggered by an enemy.

Well that is a problem then because I'm a "grenade" trapper and my traps explode almost immediately after I throw them, so there is little chance that an enemy might trigger it, unless I can throw it right on top of them. It depends on how much time it needs to trigger or is it instantaneous?

BTW this mechanic sucks, because with a ranger you could easily say that you don't kill the enemy, your arrow does.

I think GGG shouldn't treat traps like minions, they're not alive. They're spell constructs. So the trap kill should benefit the caster like with any other spell. Even more so because with traps you're even closer to the mobs than with a ranger or caster.

I'll give a try to the master sapper though. Even if it's a bit out of my way on the tree.

Traps are counted like minions. They get the kill, not you. Traps also cannot leech for you. That's just the way it is. You get the benefit of having traps, and all of the inherent pluses with that. In return there are certain effects that you cannot benefit from.

Do you want protection from reflect? That's the benefit of using proxies to do your damage. If traps/mines/totems/minions were to give you the benefits of their kills, they would also give you the negatives. There would really be no point in trapping if you were subject to reflect. You might as well just self cast your skills.

Arrows are not entities, but projectiles. You could easily say that, but mechanically it's entirely nonsense. This isn't about semantics, but mechanics.

There's a very large amount of differences between Traps/Mines/Totems, and Minions.

Sunblast grenades are not Triggered. As such, they will not trigger the Frenzy on Trigger passive.
