Shock and Horror boss issues

I found this video on youtube and I thought it was funny.

I've killed this boss a few times with luck I guess. It's easy to bait the laser but her totems are super annoying and do a shit ton of damage. I am actually having similar issues when trying to engage the boss in melee. Too much lightning damage.

Ranged this boss this pose no issues I would presume because you could just run around the room and shoot while the totems are playing catch up.

The laser has cooldown. Hide when laser, facetank her after, when she cast laser again - hide. Easy (I killed it a lot of time with my ground slammer).
Get Topaz flasks. The mitigation they offer help immensely. This should be obvious.

Also, that youtuber is hilariously stupid. No Leap Slam? No Flame Dash? No mobility whatsoever? Come on.

The boss is very easy, provided you can eliminate the totems quickly enough. They don't have too much life, the problem is they come and go, so you have to focus them once they're out.

He looks at the map mods and he says:

-Bullshit here!
-No increased damage, just monster life!
-Frenzy charges....

There's nothing that says I'm going to be raped.

lololololololololo

Not to mention he doesn't even try to interrupt the laser, just runs around taking damage from it.

Killing them is pointless since the boss will just resummon them. At least for ranged builds. Shoot the boss a bit, and when the totems start to converge on you, move a bit and start shooting again. Golems or a totem of your own work wonders in distracting the hostile totems.

well, he can't shoot if he's whirlwinding. That's his melee skill. Of course with a range skill you can shoot and move, shit, you can just move off screen and spam at the boss location.
With a melee build I'd probably hang around a short distance away from the boss, wait for the totems to warp there, then go hit the boss. When the totems warp to me again, move out and repeat. I don't play melee though so dunno how well that'd work.

Sure, it works except for one snag, if totems aren't aligned to gang warp at your position this won't work because you'll have a totem warping on you at all times, killing them or stunning to delay the casting of warp can help with aligning them so you get a good window. Of course, if it's fleet map with frenzy charges they will be too fast for anything and you're officially screwed.

There is a trick that worked a few times for me before, you can try to lure them away from the boss, place a decoy totem (or just bait them to warp over long distance) and then you quickly go back while they're warping. If you're fast enough you will be outside of their detection range but they will still be alive so the boss won't resummon them. Can't say I made a habit of farming the boss considering I usually play melee so I don't really know if that will work every time, or whether it still works. Worth a shot, I think.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I wouldn't really bother on a true melee build, even with two topaz flasks and almost 70% spell block, I was taking way too much damage due to all the totems and shock. I guess those new shock immunity gloves would help though.

Spell Block won't apply to a degen, which the beam seems to be.

As to the rest, like raics and databeaver, the totems would end up being resummoned no matter what happens. Duration, you killing them, there are various reasons for the totems to come back. Anyways, they have EXTREMELY long range, to the point you would have to literally be across the entire room.

It's best to simply take out the totems as you get them, then focus on the boss whenever you can. If the beam is too much, ditch behind a pillar and keep the boss near it.

If you cannot control the enemies, you have poor player control.
