Are Ascendancy Classes needed for endgame?

Now ever since i came back to PoE after taking a break for while and trying out the league's one thing has crossed my mind but have so far not tested extensively....Is it mandatory to ascend your character or can you clear endgame content without it?.Now ive ascended a few character's and while i dont mind doing it too much id be lying if i said i like it,I find it tedious and so far the only thing iam not a huge fan of.Now my question is this have any of you guys tried doing endgame content without ascending your character and if so did you notice the difference and is it mandatory if your doing hardcore?

Would be silly not to get them like the damage you get from ascendancy is so stupid actually.

The first 6 points are easy to get, so there is no reason to not do it. Uber might be slightly more difficult, but it's also entirely optional.
Ascending your char is probably the most cost/time efficient way to get power for your character. Compare it to 6-linking or levelling to 100 - and it's a no brainer what you'd rather do. It is possible but getting ascendancy can give a lot of damage and defense

Basically, No they are not...the game hasn't changed that much, builds that would have worked before the ascendancy stuff would still work just as well(well ones that haven't been nerfed).
It gives a boost to those older ones and some of the new builds incorporate them to the point that it wouldn't work without them. Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

It's not mandatory but they are nice to have.

like in a new league, ill get to maps and then go do labs

No, they are a bonus.
Look at the Scion. The ascendancy bonuses are shit, but still the class exists at max level and can work alright on it Hail build Diversity,

They as mandatory as using your other skill points. It is possible to not use like 20 of your regular skill points and still get to mapping. But it will be harder.

Just get any move skill like flame dash, leap slam, whirling blades, rush through all moobs just to the doors. Boom, lab done in 10 min.
If you don't want to waste 10-15 min to get "super power", the w/e, your choce, you can play "hard mode" w/o ascendency. |
