CI life leech and energy shield regen question.
|
Im making my first energyshield witch and im going to use searing bond with some other type of fire totem. This is my first energy shield char, i plan on getting CI and zealots oath. Is there anything else i should know? Im worried about slow energy shield regen. Is there any type of energy shield life leech or anything else i can do to sustain a large energy shield while in combat?

There are a couple different ways to sustain energy shield in combat. You can use life leech + ghost reaver, zealot's oath with life regen, stack ES recharge cooldown reduction, or stack jewels with +3 ES on hit. You could also use Aegis Aurora, but that's a bit different. I may have missed a method or two, but these are the major ones I know of.
For you as a searing bond totem build, you can't use life leech. You could go with regen and recharge, which might be the best idea. Stack some life regen and you should be good to go. If you can get 8000 energy shield with, say, 5% regen, that's 400 ES/second. That's quite a lot of regen, and it's easy to go higher. With occultist, you can stack WAY more regen, too. With the new energy shield belt and %life regen amulet, you should have no problem creating an extremely tanky CI character based on ES regen. |

Thanks for the reply! Does %life regen nodes with zealots oath then scale with % energy shield instead of life?
Ill have to look into ghost reave because i dont know what that is. Is it an item, skill, or passive node? Last edited by MournVallas#5799 on Sep 13, 2016, 11:32:36 AM

Passive node. Top right corner of the tree. With the node, your life leech applies to ES instead of life.

I would not play CI with most totems. They are made to play life. Not only are all the life nodes by totem buffs and hardly any ES all the regen nodes are by marauder and templar where all the life is.
If you do go CI just get down to almost instant start of recharge. It's way better than ZO, again for what it's hard to get regen for anyway as CI Git R Dun!

In my experience it is best to take vaal pact with ghost reaver for CI build, since the negative of vaal pact no life regen doesn't apply to CI and your ES will still regen. But if you're going with totems, better take zealoth oath, since totem damage won't leech for you.
