Near and Nearby, what does it mean?

So I played a chieftain again and I thought, since it is indicated nicely on enemies, I might just look how far the effect of Arohongui, Moons Presence reachs. It makes enemies near your totems deal 8% less damage and take 16% increased fire and physical damage.
I thought, since I use RF totems that this is great, because enemies are always near my totems... interestingly I was wrong, not in the bad way. Near in this case means literally the whole screen your totem is on. So here is my simple question... does near or nearby always means this? Or are there "nearby"s of varying range? My question comes from the fact that I do have yet another nearby as a Chieftain. Tukohama, Wars Herald. It is devastating for Decoy Totems, but somehow I doubt the reflect damage happens to every enemy on the screen. Sadly there is no such great visual indication. Actually some enemies like Cave Bears seem to be so big that nearby doesn't even reach them, because they attack from too far away (I assume they attack from the center of their model with a weapon range, much like our characters). So since those two are seemingly different, I would like to have a different wording for those. The wording of Arohongui could stay near, and near would generally be enemies you see on your screen. Tokuhama though only affects enemies directly next to the totem, so "around" your totems could be a better word or close. Last bumped on Sep 7, 2016, 9:13:09 AM
