Flesh Eater, Dream Mace

I feel like I theorycraft a little more than I play. However I picked up a flesh eater mace and I honestly don't know what main weapon skill I should use. Was thinking of going berserker with it but idk. Thoughts and suggestions please.

To me, Flesh-Eater doesn't seem like a unique to build around. The base damage is far too low for direct usage in the end-game. The first 1% leech mod and the chance to bleed mod are local, so that goes to waste in an end-game build. The leech-against-bleeding is global as it is a conditional modifier, so all this boils down to is a "Southpaw" off-hand for 1% leech against bleeding.

"Southpaw," also known as "fake dual-wielding," is so called because "southpaw" means left-handed, and is a setup in this game where you have 1 weapon that works with a skill and 1 weapon that does not. This allows you to gain the hidden dual-wield bonuses (10% more Attack Speed, 15% block chance, 20% more Attack Physical Damage) without having to deal with the low base damage of 1 of the weapons. Reave is popular for Southpaw builds; Reave only works with Daggers, Claws, and One-Handed Swords, so if your character dual-wields Flesh-Eater and a Dagger, for example, you gain the 1% leech against bleeding and the dual-wield stat bonuses while using Reave, but only attack with your Dagger, which means you aren't hurt by the low base damage of Flesh-Eater.

You might want to use bleeding-type-Rapier to more easily take advantage of Flesh-Eater's southpaw bonus.

If you are not talking about end-game, then you can use whatever skill you want with Flesh-Eater. Some fairly mace-exclusive skills are Ground Slam, Sunder, and Earthquake. IMO Ice Crash and Heavy Strike also make sense with maces.

Flesh eater is not a good weapon, because its leech amount is too low for early-mid game when you might actually use it. There are lots of better ways to get leech late game.
