[Shield Charge] short question ...

Is Shield Charge supposed to stun targets?
Because it doesn't.

What am I doing wrong?

It stuns targets if you charge a long enough distance before hitting them
I play on 1920x1200 and when I charge across the whole screen the only effect I see is that monsters turn away for a brief second and that's it. Is that the stun you speak of?

I'm bit dissappointed, but I found out the skill is way better as an escape anyway (playing HC).

Regardless of the damage it does? For example, can I stun a high level enemy with a level 1 shield charge on my witch if the travel distance is long enough?
Disregard witches, aquire currency.

Yes, Shield charge will always stun the target if the charge distance is over 20 (which is roughly the base range of a cleave, for reference).
Not that this applies only to the targeted monster. Other monsters which get in the way are not stunned, they just get pushed tot he side as you move past.
Might be good to know for PvP in particular, thanks.

I could be wrong on this one, but I think the problem here is that you may not understand what a stun is in this game. In a lot of other games, stun has a more obvious animation. Here, stun is an interrupt followed by a brief "recoil" animation for most monsters. It can also happen anytime you do a large enough percentage of a monsters' HP in damage.

You can only stun the creature that you target with your cursor. If you click on the ground, no one will be stunned.

My experience with shield charge is 50/50

Facts:
First things first: You are not immune to damage while charging

You'll be moving too fast for normal melee mobs to hit you. Same with projectiles you'll be long gone before the projectile reaches your starting point unless you're charging straight at the archer in question. Spells however can be an issue as quite a few of them are AoE and cannot be dodged. The same happens if you charge straight into a fireball; you're still gonna get hit.

My opinion:
As far as escape skills go it's pretty good, also if your defense is high enough (I'm a def stacking Templar with fire skills) you should be able to Shield charge into mages and archers and take them out before they can really deal serious damage. Haven't reached Merciless yet with this char but in my opinion it's a great utility skill

Lead or Follow but get out of my way. -Thomas Paine
