How does cast on crit work??

Alright iv read up everywhere and it says u have to have multiple links for coc to work..
Basically im running a 6 link where iv got 2 spells and coc to test but CoC is making any spell i link to it grey'd out and unable to use the spell how the fuck does this work if i cannot cast any spell in the link thats got coc in it?? Last bumped on Jul 3, 2017, 10:27:31 PM

You hit something with the linked skill (Like Cyclone, Groundslam, etc)
Score a crit Crit is then rolled against the chance of casting the spell (69%) The spell then self casts itself (hints why greyed out because you cannot cast it while linked to COC) Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in! Labyrinth salt farm miner. "But my build diversity" , "Game is too hard!" - Meta drone playing the same 1-3 builds for years. The problem is that any skill that is linked is grey'd out and i cannot use the skill at all so im unable to cast any skill in the 6 link if coc is in it

"You cannot use a spell to proc cast on critical, you have to use an attack. http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Gem_tag AKA A skill that uses a weapon. Im assuming youre attempting to try and use cast on crit with a spell, spell are things tagged with the spell tag in the gem description. Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in! Use an attack skill > COC > and crit > casts linked spells.

The Cast on Critical Strike gem needs a linked attack to be the one doing the critical strike which then triggers the linked spells to cast.

From the CoC-Description:
Supported Attacks have a (50 to 69)% chance to Cast Supported Spells when you Crit an Enemy You cannot Cast Supported Spells directly. Bird lover of Wraeclast

Is there a internal cool down to the linked spells? For example, I crit back to back, will 2 spells go off at once?

I forget the exact patch notes, but there is a .05 sec cooldown on the gem. However, I'm not completely sure if this is a per spell cooldown, or a global cooldown on the support gem itself.
Sure, the lab can be hard, but it's pretty easy if you're properly geared, and not terrible at the game.
