[Help] Killing Whakawairua Tuahu Boss as Melee

I run cyclone discharge and so it makes this fight practically impossible. I just spent close to 20 minutes and didn't even get him to half life so I just gave up to go do something else because I was wasting time.

I got another Unique strand map during the run so I am going to try to do it again later, but is there a tip to doing it as melee or is just going to be this cancerous?

Is the loot even worth it or should I just skip the boss fight altogether?

It's very hard melee wise unless you bleed him / poison it somehow it's just going to run away from you endlessly.

A friend brute forced it by equipping this chest that prevents chill though and just bomb rush the thing every chance he gets I believe he was a cycloner too.

The best way I ever used to defeat it was with essence drain, as it completely ignores pretty much everything that boss tries to decrease your dps. But generally it's just cancer multiplied with aids.

This boss fight is pretty awful on just about every build ive used without specifically changing a bunch of stuff to deal with it and its one of those maps that sucks to run without building for it.

Really isnt a dangerous fight at all just a goddamn obnoxious mix of skills the thing uses.
It teleports on you but constantly runs away....lol what? It is the troll king of all bosses in this game.

Played a melee/summon char in Perandus and the fight sucked ass, had to chip him away for 10 minutes

This ring did make me scratch my head. I'm usually all for powerful builds and items but this is the first time I've seen one item give the equivalent of an 8-link. It will go legacy, be retroactively changed or be limited only to prophecy league.

Boss is a dps check, either you kill it fast or run around on chilled ground like a fool for 15 minutes trying to scratch him

Maximize your damage output, equip few anti-freeze flasks and use temp chains/vaal roa/whatever to slow him down

I had no problem with destroying him few times as fully decked hyaon's fury cycloner, but my dps was like 100k+. Drops were shit anyway, not really worth bothering with it unless you want to enlarge your epeen

Poison Flicker + Multistrike.
Or just use Earthquake where you stand and wait for him to telepot to you.

Still another good example of atrocious design. Neither fun nor challenging.
