good 4 links for ice golem?
hey, I'm wondering about good links for a cold witch using ice golem. atm, I'm using faster attacks, minion speed and added cold. my understanding is that most attacks deal cold, so I should encourage the cold damage. maybe a change to my setup either takes more hits or does more damage, whichever. as it is I mostly like my golem for my crit bonus, and for its moving around quickly, though it does very little damage, it at least agros. Unless you are making a minion build, your golem wont do much damage as such you should focus on his survivability, adding, minion life, minion resistances and fortify as his links.

If you aren't a summoner its damage will always be paltry. Furthermore, it's a hybrid minion that uses two attack skills and a fairly awkward spell which means it's tricky to support and inefficient in behavior, see its wiki page for more info.
If you want your minion to do good damage its skills need to be as consistent as possible, that's why Flame golem is pretty much the only high dps option. I suppose you could link minion life, minion res and fortify to your ice golem to recast it less often or swap fortify for high level CwDT to do it automatically. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

If you have links to spare, then Culling Strike + Blind + Minion Life is quite a decent setup for a support golem.

I get the wont do damage argument, I've already fiddled around a big and found
bubcus. so I still like minion speed for its ability to get my minion in front of an attacker and agro'ing. But I had forgotten all about blind. I used to use blind on my totem when it was patched... for some reason I wrote off blind.... but for my minion maybe that works? the totem does benefit a lot from elemental, unlike the minion. maybe the odd blind, more frequent from the minion speed and faster attacks would help in a meaningfull way... vs bosses? easy single target? I need to look into blind. also, minion is taniker than me by far, added tankyness is less valuable than damage or some sort of status effect... blind? chilled?, ? The golems just die all the time if you aren't a summoner and if you are a summoner their buffs don't affect your minions anyway. Catch 22.

" Circumvented by making a summoner hybrid, which not many players bother to do because there isn't much point to it, so yeah. I suppose getting some regen from stone golem is useful to a summoner. That said, if you approach the templar start from above you can take 1,5% minion regen for just one point, with minion res and minion life supports they will be fairly durable even to a non-summoner. Seriously, a bit of regen on minion life would go a long way.
