Are those trade scripts legal?

Dropped my Abyssus in the premium stash and BAM 10 instant whispers with low ball offers. That's not the first time...
Why should i grind when i can scam people with those scripts and flipp all the stuff?

From what i gather it is "legal" because ggg doesnt care what happens to the data stream they offer to the public.

If you want to make scripts to do that its all on you, or use what is already there...

I have a tread started on this, but i guess this one is a subset and focused on the legality issue of it.

I think they break the TOS, since they clearly whisper you automatically, and it happens to more than 10 people that i know IRL.

I usually get spammed for very good rares that have an open craft spot, like high ES shields and other pieces that are very well rolled, but mostly with a spot open for a craft to take it to godly levels.

I guess this is what poe has become, and will be in the near future. Trade was always winning, now you dont even have to pay attention to bid for mispriced items or generally great trades.
Somewhat strange for a game that puts TRADE as its most important aspect.

Winning? It's an ARPG there is no winning. Why grind? Because the point of any ARPG is either A) To get loot, or B) To make builds. If you are playing an ARPG for any other reason, then you'd be better suited to another game type. Trade and/or trade scripts don't change the game, nor do they prevent you or even delay you from playing the game. It's just that simple.

They have an impact though, yes you can just play the game but many items can be hard to obtain forcing you into trade. Scripts, fake item sales, really add to the fun... not really

You know... if you don't trade, all this goes away and you can enjoy the game.

What trade scripts? POE.TRADE has an auto notification with sound and pop ups immediately when an item matching your search criteria is posted. You play the game while waiting for notification and then whisper when you get a pop up. It's shit simple.

I had to write what you wrote 50 times, and still people say "there are no scripts" ... like reading the data is not a script, the sound is a script and the whisper is a script that interfaces with poe... possibly a complete .exe

Its scripts and bots... but hey... the trade game for the traders was never better... who cares if it breaks TOS..

To be honest when I read your thread the other day I thought it was bullshit until the same thing happened to me when I found something valuable and got insta spammed as soon as I dropped in in a public tab.

U know I sometimes put something like Shav for 1ex and get 20 pm's with WTB instantly, then I proceed to ignore them right after telling them where they should shove their scripts :)

Much fun, u should try. If more ppl will start trolling script users then they will just die out over time.
