Fixing Shield Charge

As most people are probably aware, shield charge is one of the most terrible skills in the game right now. Fixing it is going to take more than just a few numerical changes.
To 'fix' the skill I would suggest the following changes: - Shield charge deals a cone of aoe damage behind the enemy hit (like iceshot) - The main target receives increased damage based on distance traveled, the aoe damage is not affected. - Enemies hit are knocked back, knockback distance is based on distance from the point of impact - Damage is fully based on armour. To prevent damage scaling to get out of hand through stacking armour the damage is based on the percentage phys dmg reduced from armour (this does not include endurance charges, flasks etc) - Jewels/enchant to increase angle of aoe If anyone got feedback to improve the idea im happy to hear it. "Dont" have to target a monster... just cast it beside a monster will receive dmg... like when a Train passes 1cm of your face.. will your face move? or stand still? you are freaking going to move...
So shield charge beside monster will dmg them as well.... |

Make it a continuous skill. Press and hold button to charge in the direction the mouse was pointing. Enemies are knocked aside and are damaged with increased chance to stun. After a duration a second and even third stage can be activated with more movement speed, damage, stun chance and knockback distance. You run straight ahead until you hit a (non-destructible) obstacle, run out of mana or let go of the button.

" i like the concept of armor as a weapon, with a few changes. charge for "x" distance or till we hit a wall charge has small aoe enemys hit will be damaged and pushed back "x" distance based on movement speed wont deal weapon damage but flat phys damage based on a % of armor and movement speed 40% less movement speed 2% more movement speed per tile traveled. this would open a few builds like pure armor or armo-eva with queen of the forest and even some pure life/armor low life guardian with radiant faith. self found league fan http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/324242/page/1 Last edited by caboom#7201 on Apr 26, 2016, 8:33:26 AM
