Energy from within - jewel placement

does it make sense to use a free jewel slot like this?

If you get the whole cluster, that means the jewel is giving you 15% increased energy shield. That's like 3 normal 5% nodes. A really good jewel is probably worth slightly more than 3 nodes, but you can't get a jewel that gives 15% energy shield, so I'd say yeah it's good if you're trying to max your shield.

you are not considering the jewel itself gives another 12% so you get 27% for 1 jewel which would be a jewel with 4 6.75% shield affixes

ok thank you - what cant be seen in this pic is that i didnt max out other ES wheels i dipped in so far. Should i better do that and try to craft a good dmg jewel instead?

I am sitting at 6,1k ES (CI in Softcore) and i am starting to prepare for tier 10+ maps

I am planning a eather jewelous character after I bore with this one, I have, for instance, a jewel that guves me 40% extra damage and 40% extra evasion.
8%attack, 7%life and some 25% extra crit chance is also a possibility (in the same jewel), or 20% block to spells and 4% block at the cost of 10% extra chance to be critted.

That may not be that much, but remember it costs no item slots, about 2 passives and can be switched out.

think about it this way:

it costs you 5 passive points to get this combo for 52% (27% from the jewel) increased ES, thats 10.2% per point.

in case your pathing goes other way, it is 6 points for 54% (have to include 2% from 10 int), which is 9% increased ES per passive point

6.1k es as CI is like running with 3k life. you want at least 9k

Yo guys, I was wondering... I've seen a guide that places another EFW on the socket in-between Combat Stamina and Constitution. Would any of you please clarify as to why? The jewel doesn't seem to reach the Scion life nodes + the guide maker didn't get them as well. I was thinking a better place in the STR area for an EFW would be at the socket next to the Marauder's endurance charge. Maybe you guys have a better suggestion as well, I'd be willing to consider.
