Orb of Storms + lightning totem

I have been trying to test to see if Arc + Spell Totem cast inside of the Orb of Storms field will proc the extra lightning strikes. Things are happening too quickly and with too much visual chaos for me to be able to tell what is happening. Can anyone verify if this works or not?

Thanks,

You can make it easy on yourself; go to the Ledge and single out a Totem. Cast Orb of Storms with the hostile Totem out of range, and place your own Totem inside the Orb's range.
(I assume it will not work, but I don't know for certain, hence this suggestion :> )
Good idea, I'll try that.

OK,

As far as I can tell the totem does not proc the orb's effect.

Based on the description of OoS, I would expect it to proc off a cast of spell totem + arc, but not to proc off a cast of arc by the totem.

I can't provide proof of the above, but I think it works that way.
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?
Frankly, once the orb is up and the totem is up there are enough lightning bolts that it is hard to tell what is coming from where.

if you're trying to figure it out, use a different spell to cut out the visual clutter. Use Storm Call totems instead, you won't get other similar procs to make it hard to see, and with storm call's lower cast time it'll be easier to tell if OOS is firing more often than normal.
