Limbsplit Woodspliter & Others

Hey guys quick question since I'm a newbie and can't find any real documentation. How does one get items like Limbsplit Woodspliter or the later Reapers Pursuit? Do you use a normal Woodpliter to 'craft' it or does a certain map/boss drop it? Just curious since I'm not used to this style of game and systems. Loving it so far though.

For the most part, you get Unique items by finding them, or trading for them with other players (poe.trade is a very popular shop indexer for finding a decent trade). You can use Orbs of Chance to get a tiny chance to turn a white item into its Unique equivalent, but that is usually reserved for end-game Uniques instead.

99% of all Uniques drop from any monster of sufficient level, they have no specific drop location. The Coruscating Elixir can only be gotten through a Divination Card, the Vessel of Vinktar is obtained on one specific Unique Map (that is crafted with four Unique staves), and the "superboss" Atziri has a couple Uniques that only she or her Uber equivalent can drop. I think that's all the specifics, but I'm probably forgetting one or two.
My take away from it then is, with the limbsplit example, I have to farm a level 13 area of normal mobs since Limbsplit is a level 13 unique?
Or anything above level 13. Note, the odds are... not very big that you'll get it - Uniques are rare drops. Generally, you'll rely on Magics and Rares if you don't have the spare currency for a trade. You'll find a couple Uniques here and there, they might be useful, they might not be.
Best you farm some currency (Chaos Orbs) and buy the uniques you want from other players.

Limbsplit should cost you only one Chaos Orb or even less on poe.trade

Don't rely on drops, so far I found around 70 unique items in the Perandus league and only two of them were really good (Rat's Nest and Tabula Rasa).

You can also upgrade your lower tier currency by trading with vendors. For example in Act 1 Nessa sells you Portal Scrolls for three Scrolls of Wisdom. With the Portal scrolls you can buy Orbs of Transmutation and so on.

Best bet is to buy it from other players. And I would simply just do that since it is that cheap and it does make leveling more enjoyable when you can use twink uniques.

Limbsplit can be bought for a couple of alteration orbs (which can be obtained by vendoring identified magic and rare items).

POE 2 is designed primarily for console.
Thank you very much for the explanations :)

It seems some of the vendor recipes are inaccurate or locked for me still. Nessa just keeps trying to give me scrolls when I go to change one orb to another using the right amounts.

You need to click on "purchase", not "sell". It will open a menu with all the acquirable stuff
