ShaderCache.dat has the wrong hash
|
I installed Windows 10 Pro and installed PoE again. Never had issue with this game before, but then I got this error every time I try to download and install the game:
Downloaded file "ShaderCache.dat" has the wrong hash. Other info: it shows I have installed 155,56% of the game..for some reason...when this error appears and everything close down. Any experts out there with any easy basic solution for this problem? ...yes, I have updated windows 10 and drivers and what not ...no, I have not and will not use third party software creativity solutions. #basicsolution ...yes, I don't mind waiting for patching problems, but I am still asking for help if there are smart people out here on the forum. the usual reason for this is a unreliable internet connection or your provider buffering a faulty copy of the resource file (resource.ggpk).
you can only circumvent this by running a vpn client (there are some free ones) while patching so your provider lets you grab the original copy from ggg's servers or get the resource file from another computer on another internet connection and copy it over to your install folder. but maybe above doesn't apply, just try a pack check on your resource file with your client closed. maybe it can fix things. a howto for packcheck is in the sticky posts in the help forum. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill! I did rename the content.ggpk (renamed to delete.ggpk or you can rename it to whatever.ggpk..) and opened up client exe and it downloaded new content.ggpk. This time it downloaded the game and got error before completing. I deleted the old content.ggpk and renamed the new content.ggpk (which was the one where the download didnt complete) and tried again. The client downloaded new content.ggpk file and again same problem. Couldnt complete.
BUT... for fun I tried one more time. Same setup; rename latest content.ggpk and open up client program. Downloaded manage to complete! I could click on launch and it kept working and seemed to start the game, but this time I got some error about armor and shield file which was bad/wrong..something was not correct, and so I still couldnt start the game. This time, since I manage to complete the download, I did a packcheck. It repaired the armor/shield file. I started the client once more and this time I got in. The game works fine! Hope this might help other win 10 people out there. Maybe even win 7 Ultima no service pack people. Thanks to vio who guided me in the direction of checking out the resource.ggpk Edit: I do not use steam installment for this game, so I can not confirm if this works on the steam version Last edited by Zahiriously#6736 on Mar 28, 2016, 5:24:45 AM
