Bugged mechanic Unstable Payload "trigger an additional time"

There's two errors with this jewel:

1. Unstable Payload's description of it's effect "chance for traps to trigger an additional time" implies that the trap will trigger again on it's own, not that it sets a new trap after detonating which needs to be walked over again.

As it is currently, it just re-sets the trap after triggering, it doesn't activate multiple times per trigger. The description should read "Chance for traps to be able to be triggered again" or better-yet "Chance for traps to be layed again after triggering" (although I'd really much rather to prefer it to do what it says it does instead)



2. This jewel does not activate at all with the Sunblast unique belt (item which causes traps to trigger when their duration expires).

So the description of the jewel needs to be significantly changed (ex. "Chance for traps to be layed again when triggered by enemies"), or else the mechanics changed. I would personally hope for the latter.


There's actually a 3rd bug too, but I'd like these be fixed first.

At GGG I know you guys are particular about words used and descriptions, and I've always followed how the wording means of different mechanics. This is something I would certainly expect you to change, since it is extremely misleading in two ways.

I can confirm both aspects, please look into it!

I tried with sunblast and 2x Cheap Construction Jewels, i.e. i had 100% reduced Trap duration, and 20% chance for traps to trigger an additional time - this never worked. The additional traps never trigger (since they don't appear at all). Without sunblast / cheap construction jewels it just lays another trap, which contradicts the wording.
also i did some testing and i also wear a sunblast belt...it doesnt seem to work at all

I wish there will be something done about this because i basically made my whole build around throwing grenades with sunblast and cheap construction. As of right now, i can throw out in the trash, lost the "fun" aspect i was looking forward to.

If you use sunblast + 2 times the cheap construction TRAPS WILL ONLY TRIGGER ONCE!
This is due to the effect of 0 duration traps (belt + jewels).

1. You have no duration and the trap will trigger at the end of the duration (see belt)

(so you trigger when the trap has no duration left this leads to the question why should a trap trigger a second time when no duration is left? it just can not.)

2. There is no duration left so a trap can not trigger again or be reset to trigger again.

As said before if a trap tiggers, it needs to reset to trigger again. To allow this it needs some duration left and be triggered a second time after the first trigger.


The conclusion is, there is no bug it is just logical thinking around an extra corner.

Get rid of the cheap construction jewels and just add additional 2 hair triggers.

Sunblast belt clearly says: "Traps trigger at the end of their duration". Why should there be any duration left to trigger another trap? Just imagine this as an extra explosion. Also don't forget, the main "bug" we mention is the wording of the jewel. It says "(8-12)% Chance for Traps to Trigger an additional time", and not "(8 to 12)% Chance for Traps to be laid an additional time after being triggered" (sorry for weird wording, english is not my native language).
It wasn't tested with Cheap Construction.

Mark seems to have said that it is due to no more duration remaining when it triggers though.

Still the wording is very misleading for it's mechanics as my first and 2nd points have said regardless of the fact tat the 2nd points mechanics is apparently intentional.

Though I guess not "useless," albeit less flashy/bursty and with the potential of mobs walking out of the "blast zone." (I use Ele Focus, so I can't Chill mobs to remain in there longer.. Msybe I should use CD instead.)


It probably works similarly to Tremor Rod where it's probably just rearming itself after it Triggers then.
