[Solved] Stuck at checking resources...

EDIT: IT WORKED. As read somewhere else and as previously suspected myself (2), the launcher seems to fail at keeping a connection! MULTIPLE restarts of the launcher FIX this issue at some point and you'll be able to proceed with the Download. I had to restart the download well over 30/40 times, so keep going! I'll keep the information below for future reference since there are far to few posts out there suggesting this weird solution.

It is an Age old Problem, that somehow never had been an actual Problem in itself.
I am stuck at this 'Checking resources...' Screen.

Could it have something to do with the other error messages that are being posted? Some sort of server-side issues?
EDIT: (I am assuming the errors are not affecting everyone by how things are looking. And judging by what is posted I should not have problems loading the actual game, thus I consider this to be an extra-problem at the moment.)

Of course I did my homework and looked up for potentional fixes but most of them are from some years ago... Are there any new insights on this by now and a way to progress with the download?
I am currently trying to reinstall the whole thing, not only the update.

What I tried:
> Restarting multiple times since yesterday.
> Using a different harddrive.
> Deleting Content.ggpk
> Deleting User/My Games/POE folders
> Restarting in Administrator mode.
> Installing it in custom locations aswell as the default one.
> Firewall deactivated, no Anti-virus that could block it.
> The 'Client.txt' does not show any error lines. It's peacefully checking files.
> VPN and IP reset.


Additional Info:
1) I have also learned that the system has to send messages back and forth to manually check every file and que it accordingly. Is this correct?
My connection is fast, so are my harddrives.

2) I just restarted after 2 to 3 hours of nothing with a few new things changed. Also I noticed that 'Client.txt' keeps getting stuck at different lines. I assume it looses connection at some point and fails to notify the user? Or it's a missing permission type of deal. Imo it is entirely unrealistic that this process should take multiple hours thus I assume it fails midway through somehow.

3) Windows is up to date. (Although I doubt this'll matter here, but since it is brough up a lot today in other problems.) My Harddrives are obviously not full and neither are they heavily fragmentated that would cause such long check-times.


I need to mention at this point that I not only wait for 5 minutes on each attempt. I am well aware this thing can soak up some time so I let each try sit and load for atleast 1 hour now.

No luck so far.

I am running out of time, I still need to sort my stashes in the talisman league before they get locked in STD.

Okay, I am done editing the OP. I cannot think of anyhting more I could try.
Leads me to believe the error is not on my end?
I have changed nothing since the last installation of this game 3 months ago anyway. Wether on my system nor the network.

Maybe someone else still has an idea. Otherwise fingers crossed I can still login before thursday night in order to get my stashes fixed.

BTW, This problem is ALL over the web, in many different languages, multiple times across all years since this game has been released. Also been finding many rant-posts...

Maybe it's time to find a different way to solve this 'checking resources' task that is more consistent?

EDIT: Please, consider fixing this soon GGG. This is a great annoyance to many people it seems!

Same here, tried everything from compatibility mode to permissions to installing on another drive, nothing worked.

I spammed the launcher 15-20 times, it finally worked.

I am also getting this error, much like hundreds of people a day.

I doubt they will ever fix their patch/launcher for this issue. Its been reported since 2012.

Perpaphs some day GGG will fix it...

The heading is so so misleading because I was looking for a quick solution to this problem instead of browsing 301,000 Google results.
Then it popped out this "resolved" useless and misleading thread which I can only regard as "trolling" thread!
