inevitable judgement + pen?

I was wondering. if you have inevitable judgement and lets say 10% lightning pen.

when u crit, you reduce their res to 0. would they then have -10% if you have 10% lightning pen, or would they still have 0?

thanks in advance!

Well Lightning Penetration ignores resistances, so I'd think it wouldn't make -10%, it would just make it ignore 0% which is 0.

Penetration does not only ignore. It reduces resitances for that skill even below 0%. This is actually a good question.

Resistance gets fully ignored, along with anything related to it, penetration will have no effect.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

interesting to see how people consider "ignore" to work differently depending on affected value being positive or negative

Consider a player using a skill with Penetrates 50% Fire Resistance dealing 100 fire damage to an enemy:

If the enemy has +0% Fire resistance
The enemy's resistance will be treated at 50 lower than it is, which in this case will result in an effective -50% fire resistance. The enemy will take 150 fire damage.

So I will redact my original post and say I was wrong and it will just act as -10% resistance.

what you quote is unrelated to the topic. Ignore means the whole step in damage calculation that involves resistances will be skipped, ignored, non-existant

But this is what OP asked. If he penetrates 10% of the monsters lightning resistance but first reduces it to 0% it will be effectively -10% lightning resistance.

OP asked if the resist penetration works with inevitable judgement when he crits. the asnwer is that it does not. inevitable judgement does not reduce resists to zero, but ignores the whole resist thingy calc entirely

Oh fuck, I didn't actually check what Inevitable Judgement did, I am sorry for being an ignorant asshole. You're right.
