Weapons Elemental Damage Vs Added Fire Damage

I am currently playing on a shadow bow build with tornado shot. And my question is, weapon elemental damage seems to not add any dps whatsoever, although it is recommended by the person who made the guide, I can't understand why. I have about 20k dps if I use added fire damage instead of weapon elemental (they are both the same level and quality) and only 13k dps with weapon elemental damage. Same goes for frenzy, more dps with added fire. So my question is, should i not pay attention to dps and keep WED, or add both added cold damage and fire damage into frenzy and tornado shot?

So its good only if you convert physical to an element? So what should I do in my case (since i dont have a 6th link for bow and armor to add the convertion)

If I were in your shoes I would keep using Added Fire Damage and not bother with Weapon Elemental Damage.

EDIT: Or, ideally, I would want to try recolouring the chest so that I can use Slower Projectiles instead.

But why is it that WED doesnt work as "intended" to?

It is working as intended. The decision process for WED is actually fairly simple.

Does your base damage include a lot of elemental damage with your weapon? If yes, use WED. If no, seek alternatives.

If you would like, you can link us the build guide you were following and we can point out the place where significant physical to elemental conversion occurs. Or if it doesn't, we can point out how silly that build is :p

Well, Grocery's just wrong in his gem order ;). You must use added fire before wed with TS. The difference is marginal (42 vs 40k for me) but still in favor of added fire.
