Leveling 85-100

Ive had to work very hard to get to level 89 wanna get my main to 100 if possible can anyone tell me where to level since I cant seem to get maps over tier 11. thanks in advance
Lvl 85+ the rate at which you exp really tanks. here's a pic from a spreadsheet calcs i made a while ago of relative time it takes to lvl to 100 when fighting lvl 75 enemies.

how to read:

basically if it took you 1 hour to lvl 70 to 71 (fighting lvl 75 mobs), it's going to take you 250'ish hours to level from 99 to 100.

there's a lot of assumptions and weird math involved here, like clear times and magic/rare packs about the same on ur journey to 100. (don't think this as an exact science).

here's another assuming ur fighting lvl 82 mobs always

basically that 250h became 30 hours if you had the maps and cleared them just as quickly.

lesson, high lvl maps helps a ton but getting them affects clear speeds massively -> still haven't figured out the magic formula of how to roll/clear maps.

what i do, if i have a strong char i alch tier 7-10 and run almost all of them w/o re-rolling. i'm still trying to figure out the best ways to maintain high tier maps without spending a grip of resources to make them fast and clearable maps.

pick up all maps and white stone hammers (also whetstones and a scraps).
save 1-2 for chisels.
combine 3-6/7 into other maps. Save any unid'd maps or maps w/ quality and alc+go (gets you more chisels and maps to combine up.)
Run Gorge, Plateau, arid lake, volcano, wastelands and any other 8-9+ map with linear layout chiseled, alc'd and if 11+ Vaal'd.
Sell anything you can't run or isn't able to be cleared fast. Use profit's to buy Gorge, Plateau, arid lake, volcano, wastelands and any other 8-9+ map with linear layout.

...Or you can dried lake a couple million times since that is the best leveling area outside of higher level maps.

The best way to not re-roll maps is to have a character that is immune to a bunch of hard map mods. Can you do a double reflect blood magic map? SWEET! It means more IIQ (more maps) and less currency you spend re-rolling.

You are supposed to give up if you are not rich enough. This is how the game ensures not everyone gets to level 100.
You can level anywhere you can gain xp (http://poetools.com/experience-penalty/).

Now for a few tips on how to reach high levels faster. I never reached 100 myself. 98,7 is the highest I ever reached.

A) Die as little as possible. Have an overall solid build and play style that allows fast clear speed and a low number of deaths. This becomes increasingly important the further you get into lvl 90+ I myself can barely feel a 10% xp loss before lvl 93 because my map clearing speed is quite decent (if you like mixing it up and running some high risk content like Uber Atziri do this right after you gain a new level).

B) Have a very clear cut plan on which items you want to pick up and which items you want to leave on the ground. The more time you spend picking up items, vendoring, organizing tabs (see below), running to hideouts, rolling maps and so on is time spend on not clearing content.

C) Streamline your map running sessions. My own method: Pick up 25-50 maps if the same tier, spend 3-4 minutes rolling them the way you want to, put them all into the same stash tab and start running.

D) Organizing tabs and looting in maps: Never ever organize your loot while running maps. Put all your currency / uniques / maps / divination cards and so on into 1 big pile (I use 1-2 stash tabs for this purpose). Once you have cleared all your 25-50 maps you quickly organize the loot. This should never be done after each map.

E) To begin with time your average map running clear speed for a whole session. Try to get this clear speed as low as possible (somewhere between 4-6 mins per map depending on the tier should be your goal but it really varies on your build. Some builds might be safer but a bit slower and take up to 7-8 mins per map).

F) Make certain you know how to roll maps efficiently and remember you can buy maps from other players (read this thread:https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1576006/page/1 + https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1569209/page/1). I can recommend writing down your total profits from a map running session (total cost = map cost + currency spend on rolling those maps, total income = whatever you picked up during this session, which is all located into the same tabs). This way you can find an efficient style that fits you.
