Knitted Horror + Soul Eater = unkillable
|
So far every time I run into one of these I end up with a rare that I can't kill or even damage. I know the mechanics. Basically you need AOE to survive virtually everything else in the game. Most AOE causes visual chaos and lags. By the time I actually can ID the rare as a soul eater he is so strong I can't kill him.
The first time it happened in the Dried lake. It had so much life regen I couldn't hurt it and was so fast I couldn't get out of aggro. It chased me around the whole instance. The next time was similar. So much life/regen I couldn't do enough damage to move it's life bar at all. This time it spawned in an Arachnid nest right by the entry, in a location where it blocked the only tunnel into the rest of the map. I was using my summoner. It wiped out my summons and chased me back to the portal. I ended up ditching the map. The risk/reward at that point wasn't worth it. Fuck that guy. Fuck him right in the ear. Wolf I'll take "Swords" for two hundred Alex.

Yea I know that feeling, even with AoE skill it's hard to kill.

" It is the AOE skill that makes it hard to kill. Soul Eater (Requires monster level 15) Consumes souls of other nearby monsters upon their death to become stronger. Each soul increases other affixes' effects, e.g. enough soul-fed nemesis with Life Regeneration becomes nearly unkillable due to crazy regen. I'll take "Swords" for two hundred Alex.

you are not supposed to kill every single monster in game
but you should identify potentially dangerous situations IGN: Eric_Lindros

Even if you don't read the monster mods, you should be able to identify a soul eater. Every time it eats a soul it has an orange line between the soul it eats and itself. And it gets bigger. But single target is how you kill them. Especially if they spawn their own minions. If they have life regen they get tough to beat, but if not they regain life every time they consume a soul. So if you keep killing everything around it, you're healing it and you'll never kill it.

Recently encountered a Necromancer with Soul Eater/Life Regen and a talisman that endlessly spawns cannibals. That was very hectic :). But yeah, just bravely run away, some combinations of mods are just completely bonkers for some builds to deal with.
