[2.1] Poison Tornado Ranger. (Concept build. In progress)
For any "Oh that's not HC viable" people... Go away now. You'll hate this build.
Ever wanted to create a storm that gives everyone aids? Well now you can. With the new and improved CoC Poison Whirling blade vortex ranger. Dash around the map at insane speeds! Dash through your foes critting them and applying huge stacks of poison. The build focuses on a decent amount of life with very high evasion, and a ridiculous amount of mobility for defenses. Whirling blades used as the main source of damage and mobility against packs along side a CoC Blade Vortex, with Viper Strike as the boss killer. Endgame Stats from tree

Spoiler
With the amount of evasion in this build the gain in movespeed from queen of the forest will be a great addition of move speed. The life and resistances are great as well. Crit, Attack speed, Evasion, Move speed, IIR, everything this build needs. Evasion, life, dodge, move speed... Yeah you get the drill. Massive chaos resist with the 20% extra damage as chaos is an amazing combination, the 15% less HP isn't bad as the build doesn't require super high HP. Other uniques required are 2x Dream Feather swords. Maligaro's is great for extra crit etc, or Asenath's gentle touch for defensive Temporal chains on hit. Snakebite can also be used and replace poison with more damage and find a source for frenzy charges. Bloodgrip would be amazing for this build as well as bleed would ravage your life pool if left unchecked. Winter Heart would be nice for no chill, and massive cold res. Soul-Thirst is another amazing unique with Life, Resists, and soul eater passives. Other gear would be aimed at min-maxing resists, phys damage, and life. Leveling
Spoiler
This build will be a little slow to level at the start because of the lack of great AoE clear, so the use of molten, static, or lightning strikes will be your best options. The main focus would be to get the Fatal Toxins node by level 20 at the latest. This is when you can transition to the whirling blades poison combo. Leveling with axes would be easiest due to their innately high base damage. By level 66 you should have transitioned over to swords for use with dual Dream Feather swords.
Passive Skill tree Any suggestions to make this build better are appreciated. Currently around level 40 with it and its working well, bosses are an issue from time to time, but leveling is fairly easy over all. |

Several things wrong :(
Make a 105-110 point build instead. Acrobatics + block = bad combo since acrobatics removes 30% block chance (or multiplies your total block with 0,7, not sure). So drop all block passives. Either you are using movement speed OR you are using whirling blades. You do not have enough evasion rating anyways to avoid the movement speed penalty from Queen of the Forest, so you have to go for whirling blades as a mobility skill (not an attack skill). Also whirling blades has a very low damage modifier which means your AoE poison will be very low. Use it as a mobility skill and go for cyclone / reave / something else. Consider going dual wield with a "stat-stick" off-hand (this is for melee attacks that always uses your main-hand, so you can make use of 1H uniques with a low damage but a nice special option). For instance http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Mortem_Morsu would be ideal for your build since it allows you to remove the poison gem or http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Relentless_Fury if you like onslaught. Finally daggers seems to be better than swords for your idea. I could go on. Hope this does not destroy your dream :) Will look forwards to see how it turns out :) Also:

Hmm, I guess I calculated my evasion wrong. I realized the block and acrobatics isnt a great combo, but even with acrobatics there was still a 20% or so chance to block, which is better than getting hit Imo.
I reworked my tree, removing most of the dual wield nodes, and adding evasion rating. Only problem is the life% is too low at only 113%. I aimed more for plain "Physical" damage and chaos damage as the flat physical will also increase the damage on the CoC Blade vortex. The aim of the Whirling blades is for mobility to get to and from targets, and critting everything while stacking blade vortex. Now has 238% evasion, 113% life, 235% global physical that will effect vortex damage, more chaos, etc. Maybe not use Queen of the Forest. I didnt realize the interaction between MS and whirling blades. Thanks for the response btw! Let me know what you think of this one. |

Been trying this build on a lvl 80 with a few tweaks here and there after using your build. I have come to the conclusion(and my opinion) Cyclone is much better for this build and keeps vortex stacks up way better
