Any way to view map without overlay?

I hate the overlay, it drives me crazy and I cannot see properly with it on at any transparency setting where it's usable. I hated it in Diablo too and thankfully games have moved on from that awful system of ugly map overtop of 90% of the action. In Diablo it was mostly due to screen resolution restrictions, but there's really no reason to use it in a game in this day and age...

Is it possible to get the map like most other games, maybe in the upper right corner or at least have an option between that and the overlay?

You can manually move it to where you want with the arrow keys. Not exactly a minimap, but it will be clear of your character most of the time.

Edit: Added example. Just don't close it, since it will reset to centre.

the map will eventually get bigger.

what I do is set the map transparency to the lowest and keep an eye out for doorways and exits which are normally in red.

Titan quest, torchlight, fate mini-maps, something to consider for poe.

Great news for us that play with multiple monitors. Can't wait to see if I can move it off the main screen.
