Help with Blade Vortex build [SC Talisman][2.1]

First off, here's my https://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAwYAsNii2cgU9W9qjBa_D6t1_SaVJIuEb2HiwzrUQlVLSwoZiiLqtUipNPsJ6NZhBvbamyYFtbfZGo8yAQX5wuyyGRXwtMU6rc96-WNirG-Eo4psjP8c7g4j9p2q73pNko199qMVIC2D3Q0s6QkzGbRbr4azAO7RNr6nFHUqTeIsbmllTRjbPydH4tX4vTZ08V-YSsgi4kd-KaUhYFltbqqkOYTZQKDPMrXyL8zAv3rvNZLBgqmVBS3-j9i9TUYM93TtTeP-CqyvplfyRbc-G5c64UGH-eiCxx2-M4cD7sqQ6UaK8MSCMZ4=

I want to make a tanky build, so I decided to go for 1) high life 2) armour (courtesy of IR) 3) block 4) Whirling Blades with Fortify

My plan is to use Cybil's Paw for the life gain on hit with spells, and spell damage with block and to use as much evasion equipment as I can get away with.

My main source of evasion will be through the shield, trying to get as high evasion as possible on it.
My gem links will be BV - Faster casting - Echo - Increased aoe - added fire/increased duration.

As you can see from the tree I have taken the Charisma cluster, this is because I plan to run Hatred and aurafied Warlord's Mark so I need it to free up some mana.

Bandits would probably be: Oak, Alira, skill point (maybe endurance charge since I'll have those up a lot)

The things I need help with are: What chest should I use? If I use pure evasion rolling 3 blues is going to cost a LOT of chromatics, using an eva/ES chest might be my best option I think. If I do go with Eva/ES chest, I could aim for a Carcass Jack, which would work quite nicely with my build.

I could drop inc aoe, but since I'm not getting any aoe from the tree, my aoe would be pretty abysmal

My tree is currently 115 points, I'm not sure what to cut, or if I can improve the pathing in any way, would love feedback on that. Also, I'm not sure if getting the Weapon Artistry and Precise Interception is a good idea, considering I'll be taking 3 useless nodes.

Otherwise, just general feedback would be appreciated.
Hi,

I can understand what you are trying to do but in my opinion you are not building correctly around the spell blade vortex.

Why are you starting shadow if you are not using the chaos dmg bonus?
Vaal pact is in my opinion one of the strongest skills to get with blade vortex because of the insane attack speed, wich makes gaining life really easy.

Cybils paw yes it looks nice with the build, and early game it will work however late game its just total crap, there are so many better options. (Late game: pledge or devinarius-good dagger, or double divinarius even)

Seecond problem with cybils paw in youre build, you have invested like 20-30 points in shield nodes/getting to shield nodes to get like 16% percent spell dmg something you can basicly get in 1 node. Sure it will give you defense but tbh in blade vortec builds offense is youre defense especially in SC.

I do understand you are aiming for a tanky build, but again there are so many options( and since vaal pact/bladevortex ) will make you regen life so fast just aim for high life pool and get some mitigation from hybrid items. 30% or 25% would be more then enough.

For curses you can ezy get a 4 link (herald of ice, curse on hit, warlords mark/assasins mark) combine with boots or ring to get second curse.

This will provide you with crit and dmg reduction.

youre build will work fine in early but it will lack dmg and survivability in late because of miss skill usage.

What would I use the chaos damage for? Few things scale BV, and physical is one of them, and it is easy to get when you start Shadow.

Yeah I might try it and see how good it is.

I think you misunderstand how Cybil's works, you get 8% spell dmg per 5% block, with a 25% block shield and 20% from the tree, I have at least 45% block, I can probably get up to 50% with jewels & Tempest Shield. At 50% block, Cybil's gives 80% spell damage.

I'm not 100% sure how BV works with the life gain on spell hit, but if each individual blade hits on an enemy, that is an absurd amount of life gained every second, I suppose I'll have to try it out and see how it works.

I think this is where our playstyles differ, I really like tanky builds, where I don't have to worry too much about dying, and I can just run into sketchy situations and come out unscathed.

But in this case you're talking about a crit build, which is not what I want to go for.

Guess I'll have to try it to find out.
