[2.1.0] Talisman CoC Double Strike Blade Vortex Shadow (MoM/EB/Life)



Hey everyone. It's been a long time since I played a shadow and with the new blasphemy and blade vortex skills released I decided it was the time to try again.

Overview

This build aims to utilize the huge damage bonuses for daggers and physical damage that is available to the Shadow class and using Eldritch Battery and the Mind over Matter keystones to allow you to reserve 100% of your mana and gain a little bit of defense which the dagger class lacks.

Skills

Main attack

Double Stike + Multisrike + Melee splash + Cast on Cri + Blade vortex + Faster attacks/Melee physical damage/weapon elemental damage

A five link will be almost mandatory for this build since you'll need the first five skills for it to clear packs effectively. With the changes to melee splash it should be much easier to clear packs effectively and once you start stacking blades you'll be chewing through packs in no time.

Auras

Herald of ash + ice + thunder

The trio is going to add tons of damage to your blades and double strike and will mean you're build deals chaos/physical and tri elemental damage so enemy res shouldn't be an issue.

Assassins mark + Blasphemy

This will reserve your remaining mana and mean you no longer need to run power charge on crit or bother cursing manually. You'll need to take the reduced mana reserved nodes below Vaal pact.

Other skills

Whirling blades + faster attacks + fortify

The best mobility ability with a bit of defense thrown in

Cast on damage taken + blade fall + blind + spell echo

Hehe. As far as I know you can level blind as high as you want and it is only blade fall that needs to be capped to fit the level requirement of CoDT but I need to test this.

Main hand - Any high physical damage/crit dagger or binos

It's pretty self explanatory, a rare dagger with huge damage and crit would be best in slot here but binos will also work

Off hand - Divinarius - shield with some es/life/res - something else

Divinarius might be a nice choice for more damage and AOE but I think a shield may be better since this build will have some survivability issues.

Gloves - Maligaros or rare life/res/es gloves

Mali for damage or rare for survivability

Chest - Lightning coil/Carcass jack/rare chest

Coil/rare for survivability and carcass for more damage and AOE

Helm Abyssus/rats nest/rare helm

Abyssus/rats nest for damage and rare for survivability

Belt/boots/rings/amulet - rares with crit/health/res/magic find will do

Jewel - This is important, in order to sustain your es with MoM and EB you will need a gem with "x energy shield per hit" they aren't too hard to get but a really nice one might be difficult to find. The more of this you get the better since it will allow you to maintain your ES through damage and casting

At the moment no, I am using a potato laptop so it isn't easy to post a video. I'll probably try once I reach end game and have some better gear.

Ill save you time. Blade Vortex looks more like a cast spell :/

Tried to build around it with CoC - didnt work. With 16+ charges and plenty of flat additions and MORE modifiers it starts to shine - aka use casting.
