Interaction between Righteous Fire and Temporal Chains?
Hey guys,
Haven't found anything on this, but I was wondering what would happen if you were to use RF when monsters are cursed with TC, would the burning damage be slowed down? Because I was thinking maybe with the new Blasphemy support gem this could be fun, but not if the burning is reduced. Thanks. |

Ignite would last longer just like any other effect does when Temp Chains is used. But RF doesnt Ignite it does burning damage.... which is why some gems (The one for MS when ignited) wont work with RF.
You could test it with RF though i have not really paid much attention to weather or not RF ignites mobs or not but if it does then yes it would extend the duration of the ignite. But im almost certain it doesnt ignite. As far as RF and Blasphemy go i would say that Flammability will be the go to for most any RF build. Unless you are running RF to boost a spell other than a fire spell in which then you would go Ele Weak. (RF Discharge for example) There is a fine line between Consideration and Hesitation. The former is Wisdom, the latter is Fear. Last edited by Demonoz#1375 on Nov 19, 2015, 1:14:52 PM

No, RF is a secondary damage over time effect and is not the same as a "ignite" status ailment.
Status ailments get increased in duration from temp chains. RF however is a static degeneration based on your health pool and is not modified by temp chains on mobs. Peace, -Boem- tl;dr burn =/= ignite :) Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

Thanks guys,
What I had in mind was a sort of Iron Will Caster with maybe Blade Vortex or Bladefall for physical Spell damage, using RF more as a Spell Power Boost and additional damage for quick clears, so the TC would help staying alive in the middle of monster packs. I don't know if it would work though, what do you think? |

For defensive purposes either TC or enfeeble will do what you provide.
For offensive cursing in your particular situation vulnerability would be superb since it both increases damage over time sources (RF) and physical damage (vortex). So i would suggest enfeeble, that way you can simply swap out enfeeble to vulnerability in your set-up for easier maps.(both gems are blue, while TC is a green gem) Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
