2.0 - Return Of The Elemental Buzzaw - 14k DPS 7k HP

Ever since the Awakening release I have been working on making a playable Spectral Throw character. I had to leave crit behind, as it currently has too many downsides that are extremely hard to work around (Not crit capped? - no ty / <5k HP - no ty / no constant life susatain w/o flasks? - no ty). So I decided to give the good old Ele Buzzaw a second chance - and it worked out suprisingly well.



What this build got:

-14k average / 18k max Dps with MY gear - you can take it even further!
-Insane attack speed -> Whirling Blades on Crack
-Stupid amounts of life: 7k at level 90 (one more life cluster and 1 jewel with life to go)
-Positive regen with Blood Rage up / 4 Frenzy charges
-Excellent life sustain with Life Gain on Hit
-Decent Evasion
-Easily over-capped Resistances
-Fully gearing the character costs less than 20 ex (about 4 ex using a 5L)
-Ele reflect has been substantially toned down, so with LGoH or Flasks its barely noticeable and no threat at all

Gear:

This build requires 2 Items: Alphas Howl and a high attack speed + high flat ele damage weapon. BIS would be a 2.0 Aps 300+ eDps Imperial Claw for the additional 25 LGoH, but any Foil / Claw / Sabre will do.
I choose to use a Belly of the Beast, as it amplifies our already high life pool to the maximum. Alternatively a rare Evasion or Evasion / Armour hybrid will be just a fine. Lightning Coil would work but takes alot more effort and currency to make it work without being short on damage.
Gloves with attack speed, apart from that life & res on gloves and boots.
Jewelry with life, res and if possible WED rolls, though these can be a bit expensive. Some Int if possible.
On Jewels I look for life, attack speed and elemental damage rolls.

I would not recommend using anything under 1.8 or 1.9 aps, this build relies heavily on getting as much attack speed as possible.

EDIT: Just realized crafting WED is alot better xD

It's an expensive option but you can lock prefix and scour the suffix then mastercraft ias.

I'm afraid I can't since there are 3 suffixes (mult,stun,str).

edit: otherwise damn 2ex, I'd do this for a pleasure of possesing nice ele weapon itself. I don't want to this or that build, I just try to figure out ele weapons themself.

And literaly everywhere they wanna tons of attack speed. That makes me curious.

To be fair its only a 12% gain in dps on the weapon itself but if you use flat damage auras then it comes out to be a bit more.

I'm not sure how the math works out on that.
