Whenever i try to go places within the POE website i get "getting info from p7p4m6s5.ssl.hwcdn.net", whenever it comes up the search or page loading takes forever with timing out most times.

hwcdn.net is a content delivery network service:
http://www.highwinds.com/en/customers I think ggg using it for the secure login service. If you are not logged in the hwcdn.net will never loaded. German chat: /global 4745

"I doesn't have anything to do with addons. Well, at least my addons (noscript and ublock). One day it is so fast I don't even see it, another day it takes 10+ minutes to load. And since at least some scripts (tags insertion in message editing, subforum folding) are loaded - or should I say NOT loaded - from there, the forum is PITA to use while it "works". And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. I'm having exactly the same problem. Very slow loading with a stall on p7p4m6s5.ssl.hwcdn.net Then it gets really weird. The problem is always with Firefox. Explorer doesn't have a problem. I've tried everything I can think of, latest version of Firefox, clearing cache, disabling cache, starting in safe mode. Problem persists with Firefox but not exploder. ??? |

best practice for debugging website loading with firefox is installing firebug.
clicking on "network" shows nearly the whole site is hosted on that cdn, loading times for items directly from www.pathofexile.com take much longer (400ms) than from that cdn site (30ms on average). only exception is https://p7p4m6s5.ssl.hwcdn.net/js/main.4cf8992b525c40428bdb8b921e2f53b704776f1f.js which taking 400 ms after most of the content is loaded i can provide screenshots if some at ggg is interested. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill! For me it just freezes.
I can't use the PoE website anymore from Firefox. This behavior started within the last week or so. |

If you're running any sort of adblocker/javascript filter you should check the permissions. Also HTTPS Everywhere rules for this site and hwcdn have some issues, so disable these and let the site do it's own SSL thing. There hve also been reports of the 64 bit version of fx being notably slower doing DNS.
Personally, I'd suggest creating a new profile free of add-ons and observe the behaviour. Incidentally, you don't need firebug for this, the built-in Network Monitor is more than adequate. It's probably also worth clearing your DNS cache (from a command line ipconfig /flushdns) For what it's worth the site works fine here with load times consistent with CDN location for the European pops. |
