Helmet Effect question

Hi,
Im new to POE and i would like to purchase a helmet effect for my char., but i was wondering if the effect works on just the helmet u purchase it for or can u change it from helmet to helmet after purchase? |

you can remove effects from items anytime
on a different note, do helmet effects replace your helm entirely or does the effect go on top of your current helm? |

It depends on the wording.
Effects that say "imbue" adds to your helm. Effects that say "replaces" well, replaces. IGN : Ericaa
