Hi!

I wanted to give you guys an update on how the Steam version of Path of Exile CIS is going. We have completed our initial development and are getting close to being able to release a version of Path of Exile on Steam that allows you to play on the Garena CIS servers. However, it currently requires that you start a new account, which we are not happy with. We want people to be able to use their existing characters, items and purchased microtransactions.

The solution is that we are developing the ability to merge a Garena and Steam account together, so that you're able to access your existing account while logging in through Steam. This process is tricky, and has unfortunately not been prioritised by us due to work on an large upcoming Path of Exile update.

I'm very sorry for this taking so long. We are really excited about finishing the feature and plan to do so as soon as we can once we have our next release out of the way. On a side note, we're working with Garena to make sure that we're able to deploy that release on the CIS server as soon as possible after it is released on our American realm.

Even through steam you would need to download another client for the Garena version, the servers, management and monetization are separate from GGG...i'd say it was highly unlikely you would be taking anything from here over to there.
