A question about sockets and socket colours for those in the know

Ok so,

Maybe i have always been lucky getting the number of sockets i want and the colours I want in my ES gear, a red/green here and there but mostly Blue. Now recently I have a 2-haned 5 socket sword that i need blue sockets in but after rolling it maybe 30 times its moved around the Red/Green sockets so many times, is there a trick to this Am I actually better off to use a jewelers to forge to the amount of sockets and wait for Blues?

I know it could all just be RNG and im fine with that, but Im guessing certain item types are more prone to certain colours, right?

No, its not.

Everything in this game is based on the 3 colors, Red, Blue and Green which stand for Strengh, Intelligence and Dexterity.

If you find a pure Energy Shield armor for example its a pure Blue item. It has a much higher chance of getting/rolling blue sockets.

If you find an armor with Armour and Energy shield its an hybrid item from Strengh and Intelligence, meaning it has a higher chance to roll blue and red sockets.

etc.


Also, every green Gem needs dex, every red gem needs str... etc. etc. Its all based on the colors.

certain wpns and armor have a bias towards the class they are "intended for"

Now having said that, every class can use every piece of gear if they meet the requirements. however the socket colours in those pieces will have a bias.

Example:
ES gear tends to have more blue sockets
EV gear tends to have more green sockets
Armour tends to have more red sockets.

Many wpns behave the same way
2 handed maces tend to have more red
bows tend to have more green
etc


It is possible to get all green sockets on a 2 hand mace, but it's much more difficult to do than to get all green on the bow.

Im trying to get the blues on (the item is a death sentence but its a lot of fun, using for farming really) Its a sword but I would like to think its kind of intended for blue socket use :)

Ill have to just keep trying.

Nope, if you look at it you can see it requires Str and Dex to be worn, that also means that its Str+Dex Hybrid, meaning it has a higher chance of rolling red and green sockets as we clearly can see

I get that Ray, the "hope" i was going for was more in jest.

Again thanks for you insight though, I just didnt want to feel paranoid for no reason.
