So firestorm 4 link? Mine seems a bit weak...

I started flashback a bit late and I went with FT and firestorm for levelling. Firestorm seems to crit enough (because lightning gem I guess) to trigger HoT so for a while, it seemed useful. I only had a 3 link when levelling. Now I just added in Fire Pen and tooltip says 980 dps. But just getting to Arid Lake runs, it doesn't seem nearly what it was and it's extremely slow and isn't triggering HoT except on really low mobs. And it seems to miss quite a bit.
My gems you can see on Xavier are Fire Pen, Added Lightning, Conc Effect, FS. And yes, this guy has terrible gear but hey 2 chaos to level 70 was cheap way to go. |

not a firestorm genius but i know it has decent crit and lowish damage effectiveness.
while leveling uve been using firestorm-faster casting-increased duration. takes a second to cast a couple firestorms but then it all dies and the screen glows like hell. |

If you wish to use it to trigger the herald,try such combination:
Firestorm + Spell Echo + Innervate + Increased Duration/Concentrated Effect/Fire Penetration But in your case (incinerate character) this combination will be much more useful: Cast When Damage Taken lv1 + Firestorm lv8 + Curse on Hit + Warlord's Mark/Enfeeble |

If ur incinerate totem kills a mob, u get no HoT proc. U need to kill shocked mob. And with firestorm and 2.0 changes it is very hard to shock, since firestorm has low effectiveness. Meaning little lighting dmg per hit = no shocks.
That is why u see it proc only on low hp mobs, they get shock for a tiny little bit, but also get insta killed by fire storm and not incinerate totem. Incinerate has a very high cast per sec, so it is easy for the totem to have las hit on a mobs, if u dont do tons of dmg with one hit. Just go dual totem and dont waste any time ;) |

I personally didn't start using Conc until I got to level 72+ Maps, Damage output was plenty powerful without it. Firestorm needs area saturation, and Conc reduces your coverage. On the other hand, Echo massively improves the amount of Fireballs falling from the sky, which is key in clearing out packs.
Fire Pen, Echo, Faster Casting is what carried me from start to mid-tier mapping. Both the Witch and Templar AoE clusters to improve clearspeed, one Duration cluster for stronger stacking potential (fantastic against bosses 'n shit). I used Temporal Chains through Asenath's Touch, and my Flame Totem had Blind and Resists linked. Once I got dualcurse, added Enfeeble on top of that. |
