Question about totem speed nodes

- the stats from tooltips like "Spells cast by totems have 2% increased cast speed", that 2%, ends up as an increased or a more multiplier?.
- is the 30% less cast speed penalty from Spell Totem calculated off the base cast speed of spells or after the haste increases(from items, talents, buffs)? i'm trying to figure out the cast speed value for spell totems because i see it very underwhelming/not worth it as of now. |

"It's no different to any other increased cast speed node, it just only applies to totem skills. It's not a more multiplier. "Less is the opposite of more in this game - the cast speed penalty on Spell Totem is multiplicative and thus applies to all your cast speed buffs. "On this note, the main thing I would say is that totems don't have to stop casting, ever. You, as a self-caster, have to constantly stop casting and run around. Totems have no such issue. They're also a lot safer - you can just hide round a corner while your totems do the work. I wouldn't say totems are great with every spell, but they can be very strong. - It says 'increased' and applies to you, can't get any more clear than that.
- Try to calculate it and you will see it makes no difference, you can apply it to base damage, any of the other multipliers or the final product. #gradeschoolmath Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

1) Increased, so your cast speed is added to the values on these nodes.
2) Don't know, doesn't matter. If you have 50% increased casting speed with a 0.8 cast time spell, then you'll have either 1.25 * 1.5 * 0.7 = 1.3125 casts per second or 1.25 * 0.7 * 1.5 = 1.3125 casts per second. Is it worthwhile to use Spell Totem instead of a dedicated Totem skill? Sometimes. If you're not scaling Fire, Projectile damage in your build and you want a damaging Totem for some reason, then using a skill that you do scale supported by Spell Totem will be worthwhile if you have the extra support. If you're playing a dual totem build, then either Flame or Shockwave Totems will be vastly superior to whatever other options you come up with (except Incinerate, because Incinerate). |

i meant to say/ask "if that 30%less changes the cast time of the spell"(before applying speed modifiers to it).
from the answers i figured it doesn't so thx for them answers. |
