90-100 on 73/74 maps?

Hi

Got a summoner to 90 and heading that way with my 82 duelist.

I play solo. But I HATE spending currency on maps.

I'm worth about 20ex.

Question is - is it possible to solo to 100 on 73/74 (maybe some 75s)

I know this would take forever, but wondered if it's possible?

Or will the grinding drive me mad.

One more ting, just bought 2 new swords for duelist,(1 ex for both) and am reaving, which I love.

Tooltip dps is 15200. Best way to increase this? Buying GCP for skills seems to cost the earth.

Yes, it is possible, but as u said ur self, it will take for ever. There is a minimum cap for exp from mob at 1% of it's normal exp.

I wouldn't recommend it. I'll break it down for you:

At level 91 you need about 170 million experience to level up. A level 75 map at that level will penalize your experience gain to about 20%. On my level 91 discharger who has very fast clear speed I can get about 20 million experience per hour on 75 maps, dropping to 15 million for 74s. I don't even bother to run 73 maps anymore, I just map recipe them to +1.

So at 20 million xp/hr you're looking at ~8.5 hours to reach level 92 on only 75 maps. Which is honestly pretty reasonable imo unless you're trying to be speed racer or you die a lot. Then at level 92 you need about 190 million experience to reach level 92 and your penalty on 75 maps goes to about 15%. So that 20 million I was getting per hour goes to 15 million per hour and 92-93 takes about 12-13 hours of speed mapping. Then - level 93 to 94 is 202 million experience at 12% penalty which is about 17 hours. Keep in mind that this isn't including deaths, which will set you back 10% of your bar (or 10% of the total time required) and this time to level is pure mapping time which doesn't include whatever else you do when you play PoE.

Fast forward to level 99 and we're looking at 320 million experience to level at a 3% penalty. Level 75 maps will take about 107 hours of mapping to reach level 100. OR you could do level 78 maps and cut that time down to 46 hours.

TL;DR - Level 74 and 75 maps are pretty reasonable until you reach level 93 to 94. Once you pass those points it becomes very tedious to level up due to experience penalties and you'd be far better off playing higher level maps. I wouldn't recommend running anything under a level 77 map if you're level 98 or 99 and your goal is 100.

It will take a lot of time. If you die even once in 10-20 play hours, you are back to square one.

at a certain point you need to move up map levels, or you might as well go back to farming docks or something.

my threshold is about 10 hours for a level, beyond that the grind is too much without fully rerolling my char into a impenetrable tank of some sort.

You need to ask yourself "how valuable those skill points really are" and if you could get a better character buff farming currency/gear etc instead. Those last couple points are probably only worth 6% life or ES or something on top of the 300% odd percent you already have.

Yes you could do it in docks but why would you? Would take 100s of hours per level when 82s can do 99 > 100 in 2 hrs.
