"5-linked items should vendor for 1 blessed orb"

We all know that blessed orb's drop rate is way too low.
We all know that 5-links are meant to be quite rare and valuable.
But they arent. Usually when you find 5-link, you cant sell it at all, unless it has great item base AND item level.
Also, there isnt any vendor recipe or other way to get blesses orbs if you need them.
And at last, 5-link selling for 1 blessed will be akin to 6-link selling for 1 divine.

I think this change will make PoE and its economics better.

I agree with this suggestion.

5L drops are still rare but their value is disproportionately lower than their rarity. Suggested recipe is too low in my opinion because you find way more Blessed orbs than 5L items. I would suggest at least 1x Blessed orbs for any 5L base below ilvl60 and 2x Blessed orbs for 5L base over ivl60.

I don't think blessed orbs drop is too low, I think it is about right.

In my experience...
Long term, the blessed orb is something that drops and has no use, a stack or 2 or 3 collect then you need to bless something. Use however many are needed and they then restock.

As far as orbs go, blessed's are pretty much the most balanced drop of all.


I don't think 5 links are rare, I think they are really REALLY common.

In my experience...
Before loot filters, I would see and leave between 3 and 7 5 links on the ground every day.
That's an average of 5 that I see.

With loot filters making that number more by not missing any and with the now stupid amount of loot that drops and the fully linked box mod, there will be a lot more drop (seen) than the average 5 I used to see per day before loot filters.

I can't say if this is true, though, as now given the choice with filters I never see a single one.


That said, yes, some sort of recipe for a 5 link has always been something the game lacked.

I'd expect it may happen soon as I've recently been going through the many tabs full of 5 links that collected before I stopped picking them up over a year ago and deleting/vending them for stash space.

Not too many tabs to go now, only 2 or 3, I expect once the last one goes there will be a recipe implemented.

I don't think I ever found a 5L but sounds good to me. I always buy Blessed orbs for like 1:1C. Dont find those either.

Found this as a 5L white item in City of Sarn (can't remember if Cruel or Merciless). Used exactly one Alch on it, then the obvious mastercraft. Replaced the Tabula I was using.

Still, it's a pretty crappy 5L, vendoring for 1 Blessed wouldn't be a problem.

I would love to see a vendor recipe for 5 linked items. If we get 7 jeweller for a 6 socketed items, and a divine for a 6 linked, we should get I think a bunch of fusing or few blessed for a 5 linked.

That was true before they were used in master crafting.
The other day I had to buy for the first time ever a few blessed orbs because I was all out and had to craft dual-res to top off a char.

5-links ain't super common either so it wouldn't skew the balance too much. I like OPs idea.

Indeed, Blessed orb isnt widely used, but still, you HAVE to use it to craft some BiS gear. For example, no good Harbinger Bow can be done without Blessed Orbs. And it need a LOT of rerolls, sometimes.
Also, some useful master-crafted mods use Blessed Orbs, especially after 2.0.

And 5-links are RARE! You cant deny that. Their rarity is higher, MUCH higher, than their use. And what you get when you find ome (usually)? Nothing... You can vendor shitty unique for 5 chances (takes some effort but doable), you can vendor 6-S for 7 jewellers, you vendor rare jewellry for chaos and regal, but you get nothing for 5-link? That's quite unfair...

And surely i thought about economy first.
It wasnt one of those crazy suggestions like "let vendor sell Exalteds orbs for 50 chaos" bla-bla-bla.... Because, you know, Exalteds selling for chaos, especiallt at such low value, with torn whole economy apart!
But what you'll do with few extra blessings? Just use them as orbs, that's all. They arent popular currency by far, also, much like 6-link recipe, it doesnt add a huge amount to orb's drop, just a few extra..

Together we'll make PoE better.

There's definitely a case for having a 5 link vendor for something.

But don't make statements like that. If their rarity was 'higher, MUCH higher, than their use' you wouldn't need a vendor price for them, would you?
