Yeah. Move once every 5 minutes.

What difference does it make? So somebody gets an afk reply followed 2 seconds later by a real reply saying i wasn't afk, just idle.

its a difference for me - if i stand in my hide and do other things on the computer with the game in background, iam not afk - if i get a message iam instant there.

Its a small thing, but why not implement a function to disable it?

I would also like to be able to disable it.

The difference is it's just one more thing to clutter an already cluttered chat system. And it's annoying.

No, that's not a legitimate argument and it's already been said by Mark there. Here is the situation that's happened to me a few times. Friend pm's me and gets the afk response and then promptly goes offline cause he thinks I'm gonna be afk to long to wait for when in fact, I'm not even afk just looking on the other pc searching poe.trade. So I miss an opportunity to map with a buddy cause of this stupid auto-afk feature. There should at least be a way to disable this!

Disabling would defeat the purpose. If anything, they should add a time to the message like "player has been idle for 20 minutes".

Tell your friends to wait 30 seconds before logging off. Or set your own afk message saying you're there but looking at poe trade or something.

If you're rmissing trades and you really aren't afk you can respond quickly enough that the player wouldn't have enough time to message the next guy. This would only be a problem if you were afk long enough to give the buyer time to move on. Which is precisely why this command is great for everybody but the guy who got flagged as afk.

Yeah, I'd be fine with that. I still think there should be an option to either disable it or alter the time before it goes auto-afk. I'd rather tell the game when I'm afk than have the game decide for me.
