Removing Links

Is there any way to remove links on a fully linked item? I want to roll my boots 2/2 and the first fusing 4l them (figures).

Why would you? You can use it as 2+2. The additional support gem linked should usually not hurt.

You can just fuse it again and it will reroll the links as normal. 5S5Ls and 6Ls are immune to fusings, but 4S4Ls are not, precisely because people do actually want to unlink them sometimes.
