Steam version not updating?

I seem to be unable to update Path of Exile through steam today.
The download of the patch is stuck at 'Starting' or 'Updating' indefinitely. It's not Steam, because all other games in my library seem to be updating just fine. Last bumped on Feb 10, 2017, 1:21:45 AM

Reboot your PC and try again.
Also try verifying the game in Steam. |

Try changing steam's download region:
Steam>Settings>Downloads>Download Region After switching to Canada (Montreal) it worked for me again. |

I have switched it to US New York.

hi, same problem here. switching download server in steam setting wasnt the answer.

I also had this issue.
I switched from my default download location (as suggested above) to a nearby city and it worked. The whole process took me half an hour to install a 972kb patch *sigh* >_< Edit: (Europe gateway) Last edited by JaegerMeister_CL#7824 on Jul 29, 2015, 12:49:32 PM

i am also currently having the same issue i was able to play last night but the second i logged out said there was a patch thought i would leave it overnight. Still not patched by this afternoon i have try changing download regions to multiple ones to no success i mainly use uk Manchester close to me then tried verify game cache it just says all files verified i did restart steam after i also restarted my pc no success so i thought i would just fully reinstall it again but steam doesn't like that everytime try to uninstall steam has a hissy fit and crashed i even left it for about 30 minutes and still stays crashed so the game wont even uninstall atm so then i tried deleting files from within steam folders and loaded steam backup and still stuck trying to do this patch tried many things to no success quite frustrating ><
