Windows 10 - Game Won't Launch

So I updated to Win 10 today, and went to play POE(Steam) but it says launching, then nothing and Steam says I'm not in a game.

Any idea how to fix this?

Edit: Now it says the program can't start because MSVCP100.dll and MSVCR100.dll are missing from my computer.

Reinstall the MS VC++ 2010 Runtimes for your OS.
same problem here on a clean win10.
1. already reinstalled:
nvidia drivers (353.62)
vc 2005 redistributable
vc 2008 redistributable x64 / x86
vc 2010 redistributable x64 / x86
vc 2012 redistributable x64 / x86
vc 2013 redistributable x64 / x86
vc 2015 redistributable x64 / x86
dx9.0c

2. tried compatibility with win xp / 7 /8
3. --softwareaudio parameter
4. changed UI and keyboard languages to english (removed eveyrthing else)

logs/Client.txt has no errors in it

for these you need to re-run installer. if it complains about "already installed":
- backup Content.ggpk
- run PathOfExileInstaller.msi
- move Content.ggpk back to poe folder
- run the game

Can you clarify what you mean by re-running the installer? Are you talking about the path of exile installer?

Yes... I believe that is what was meant. Re-run the PoE installer.

Not sure if that will work in this case though.

the missing MSVC dlls are from the 2010 runtimes... if you've already re-installed them, then something else is going on.

I'd recommend completely removing all MS VC Runtimes installed, and only install the 2010 for your OS distribution (64-bit if you're using Windows 64-bit).
I'm not sure if this will help to pin-point my issue, but I was able to get the game to run when I opened it as an admin, but when I simply try to open it from the steam page, it reacts exactly the way that was described in the original post.
What helped me with this problem was.
Going to properties then browse local files. Then I went to _CommonRedist folder and then vcredist clicked on 2010 and then right clicked on vcredist_x86 and clicked Run as administrator and clicked repair and it opened right up! hope this works for you like it did mine!
FIX WORKING...

I had this error on two machines. Would launch the client through steam and nothing would happen. Tried downloading the game from the official website and got an error about some .dll file missing.

went to this site.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/kb/2999226

Downloaded the apropriate update for my operating system (win7, x64bit)

updated and worked like a charm for both steam and the client.

Best of luck hope the fix works for you!
Hey this all sounds like the problem I'm having. I've tried several things.

Did what post above me says but it says this update is not applicable.. I'm choosing the proper Win7 x64 package for my Win7 x64 os...

As for trying to run vcredist as administrator, what always happens to me is that the repair fails. This is both before and after using windows fixit to completely remove it and try over again, what always happens is it has an error during installing and then an error when repairing too. "0x80240017 - unspecified error" it always hangs for a while on processing Windows7_MSU_x64 before it says it had an error.
