Fortify doesn't work with Vengeance, Reckoning and Riposte
|
Hello,
the Gem Fortify doesn't work with Vengeance, Reckoning and Riposte. "Fortify" has the same tags as "Melee Physical Damage". "Melee Physical Damage" works, "Fortify" doesn't. In any case it is either a missing documentation or a logic bug. Please fix this. Edit: "Endurance charge on melee stun" gem works with these three gems, too. So it is highly inconsistent and doesn't follow any logic (I can see). Last edited by basket#7041 on Jul 19, 2015, 8:03:18 AM

i've read it doesnt work for balancing purposes... because some people manage to get fortify from afar, without being in close range with the mobs
if thats the case then its unfair for true melee players wanting to get their fortify triggered at MELEE RANGE i just know my vengeance is pretty much melee range didnt tried riposte nor reckoning, but i can read "Melee" in the gem... if it can truly hit mobs at high range then just add a condition so you dont get fortify if the distance between you and the mob you hit is too high, or make it clear that GGG dont want any triggered fortify even at melee range by adding it to the tooltip of the gems |

They made it clear that is is not intended to work when they released fortify, and now by it not working when you link it..."supported attacks" really dose imply that not everything will work, and GGG tend to think you are smart enough to figure this out for yourself.
A pity people disappoint them and keep wanting it made clear and want everything on the tooltip...i'll laugh the day they add every nuance to the tooltip...it'll be the day that every fucker whines that they there is to much info and the day that "bug" reports will be flooded with people that can't/won't read the stuff properly. " Hardly the same, not only do you need to get the triger gem to proc you need to hope that it stuns, it also dose not come with a damage boost like fortify. Ancestral Bond. bump
it's still a bug. Damage boost is laughable and means nothing compared to other gems that can be used instead. ~40ish INCREASED (not more) melee physical damage (so, limited use) versus gems that give more or much more increased damage... sure this is just my opinion, and yes, 20% dmg reduction IS strong since it's ALL damage reduction, not just physical like endurance charges but still, they can go ahead and remove increased damage, no one uses it for that "damage" anyway. Range builds cannot use it all, so only melee chars, mostly resolute tech. chars will have a use for it but we need to sacrifice even MORE damage to link it up with our attacks. Basically the only "efficient" way to use fortify is on golem or on leap slam. Fine. I'll leap slam, I do it anyway but we are starting to lack sockets for all this stuff especially after E. Cry is no longer working with CWDT. Again, this is jut my opinion based on my melee char playstyle. My ranger couldn't care less. It kills 10x faster than my melee char, i need no fortify anyway on her. "Path of Exile be a online Action RPG set up in tha dark fantasy ghetto of Wraeclast. Well shiiiit..."

" No, it's not a bug. "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning."

" No, it's not, the devs have said it is not bugged, it was explained at he time why it is not intended to work, end of. You can argue all you like but what this boils down to is you being stupid and stubborn, and not accepting the facts as they are. it's a bug in developers.
PS. I don't care how you spend money that someone else earns, this is not about that, but people like you make it about it by forcing the rest of us. So I call it out. Sue me. " Whatever, i think you'll find there are plenty more "bug" that are not bugs...i'll know not to bother replying past it's not a bug for you then watch your tantrum Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

"Then it should be made more clear in the gem description so people like me don't have to waste multiple chromes getting off-colours then Googling for why it doesn't work. BTW nice ad hominem. ~DemiDemon~

" Maybe before you go do anything you should read up first? If they start putting everything you think you need to know on gems you won't be seeing the screen because it would be full of the description. This is just common since as the triggers activate and damage at range and fortify is a buff to close quarters melee NOT range. Ancestral Bond.
