Arc or ball lightning

Hello guys,
I need your opinion about arc and lightning ball skill :) . I can not decide which I wanna take for my build, I like both. My goal is making high end maps, mostly in groups. And maybe Aztiri (but if not works that would be ok too). Since I like both skills and can not decide, so I will take the stronger skill. But I am not sure which one is better? Arc or lightning ball? With the new addon arc has 8% less damage now and ball lightning has 24% less damage but an increased radius of 33% (12 to 16). If you watch the dps numbers, arc seems to be the stronger skill, but after watching some youtube videos, ball lightning has an insane clear speed in maps for trash whereas arc has an awesome killspeed for bosses. Arc is just stright up better in 90% of possible scenarios.
It deals instant damage across almost full screen range AND it still has more DPS (in 2.0 ball lightning got nerfed pretty hard) (it was already far worse before the nerf, now it's just plain bad compared to any skill.) What makes ball lightning inferior is the fact that it's slow. And it has bad synergy with LMG/GMP (it simply reduces your damage, no 'shotgunning' is possible) So if you want to kill any rare in less than 30 seconds, you have to skip LMP/GMP, and live with one projectile, which in the end is just a slower version of Arc with reduced damage. |

I mostly lurk here, but I thought I'd chime in, because I disagree with almost everything that _Interrupt_ said.
Arc does hit instantly - this is a point in it's favor. OTOH, L20 Arc deals 39-738 damage/hit, hitting 5 enemies: total of 389 damage/enemy [up to 5]. L20 BL deals 11-217 damage/hit, hitting everything in its range 5 times/second: total of 456-570 damage/enemy [no limit]. Larger packs = more damage, whereas Arc has a hard limit. The slow projectiles factor isn't really a pro or a con IMO. Yes, it doesn't hit instantly, but it's pretty trivial to saturate a screen with balls and hit everything at once, even if you're no longer casting [i.e. running away]. If you have to run, Arc doesn't deal any damage, period. LMP/GMP has never been that great for BL, but they also doesn't work for Arc. And IMO, you don't need it. I stack AOE instead, and the area of damage from BL covers about half the screen as it is. Lastly, any damage aura you run will have a proportionally greater effect on BL than it will on Arc, due to the increased speed with which it hits. Arc has a 70% effectiveness, while BL has a 20%, but since BL hits about 4-5x as fast, it deals overall more damage. I'm not saying Arc is useless, or even bad, but it's certainly not as one-sided as _Interrupt_ would lead you to believe. Last edited by Snowman0#0098 on Jul 14, 2015, 11:06:30 AM

" I may be missing something but the wiki has the following information about ball lightning "2.0.0: Base radius increased by 33% (from 12 to 16). Damage reduced. At player level 68 it should deal approximately 24% less damage." It seems to be directly opposite to your statement of "25.36% boost". Maybe the wiki has incorrect information? Iirc BL recieved a significant buff at the begining of CB. The nerf the wiki is probabaly reffering to was at the end of CB.
