Aurify Support idea

People have tossed around the idea of an Aurify gem for years off and on, something that lets you plug in another gem as an aura. Here's my take on the idea.
Aurify Aura, Spell, AOE Required Level: 31 Mana Reserved: 60% Mana Multiplier at level 1: 150% Mana Multiplier at level 20: 100% Per 1% Quality: +1% increased radius. x% increased radius x% reduced effect of gems supporting this gem Supports linked to this gem are applied as an aura. I'd say nay, bonuses that some supports offer come in very limited quantities and would be too good even with a large penalty. True, it wouldn't allow support stacking, but it would enable us to get 10-link skills.
Penalty is also the problem, how would you penalize something like Iron Will? It can't apply only a portion of strength bonus and it already has a penalty. " dont forget the grief with suport gems like point blank, elemental equilibrium or the best of all blood magic. something i could see happening is skills into auras say linked skills are casted against enemys inside the area, each cast consumes mana increace skill base mana cost by 250%-400% i know GGG does not like to add pasive gameplay but to be honest smashing one button to spam one skill untill everything is dead isnt that far away from that anyway. balance wise the huge increace in mana cost specialy with added suport gems, the lost of 1 socket and the inhability to select target should be enought of a drawback. all in all is a secondary source of damage or curse casting that requires a considerable amount of investment into mana, in the worst of cases dedicated mana builds would be able to keep 2 or 3 of them up but they will be weak in everything else so it balance out. self found league fan http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/324242/page/1 Last edited by caboom#7201 on Jun 17, 2015, 11:46:16 AM
